I've finally managed to make pets that have over 500 max dmg and still be callable/useable. It is possible and can be done consistently. Here are some stats:
Gnort
DL 70
Health 4549
Regen 22
Armor 1332
To Hit 104
Defense 159
State Resist 18.7%
Crit Hit Chance 3.7%
Crit Save Chance 1.89%
Aggro Bonus 5.87%
Damage 134-501
Ranged Yes

The Armor is going to shift to 4696 as the pet grows up. I'd be surprised if it stayed CL70 when it was full grown. Nice job on the damage though.
Oh and the To-Hit & Def will jump to 170.

I was wrong. These pets did indeed turn out to be invalid when I tried to call them again. I apologize for prematurely posting, but it does indeed look like 499 is the dmg cap.
