There is a new site www.swg-resources.com that is being made for searching resources for specific professions.
EDIT (28-Jan-05)
Architect Added to Resource Search
Architect has been added to the professions in the Profession Search for resources. The list now stands at
- Architect
- Armorsmith
- Bio-Engineer
- Chef
- Combat Medic
- Doctor
- Droid Engineer
- Weaponsmith
EDIT (13-Jan-05)
New Resources Table
SWG-Resources.com home page has been upgraded to show the newly found resources on your server/galaxy. The server is picked up from up the server you select in the resosurce source on the Resources page. This is useful for regular visitors as it shows them instantly what's new.
Droid Engineer Added to Resource Search
Droid Egineer has been added to the professions in the Profession Search for resources.
New Guild Forum
SW-Resources is now providing a free Guild Forum for all SWG Guilds. The forum can be public or private depending on your requirements. See the Guild Forums area on SWG-Resources.com for details.
New Search Available
We have upgraded swg-resources.com with a new search. In addition to the profession search for resources you can now search for any one resource (on the resource tree) on any server. This give you the ability to search for higher level definitions eg "organics" or "metal" and not just the individual resource.
The search has powerful filter functions so you can optionally filter by planet or resource attribute, as well as select a sort sequence based on the resource attribute.
Visit our site at www.swg-resources.com and check it out. 1000's of users are using our site to find the resource that best suits thier needs.

whats it do that swgcraft.com doesnt do?
personally, in cases like this, i prefer one definitive source rather than competition.

SWG-Resources does not compete with SWGCraft.com, we work together in supporting the swg community. Our site presents the data in a format that is wholly focused on meeting the specific needs of crafters. Our primary searches are profession based to make it easier for a crafting profession to find the best resources for their craft. As noted on our site, our resource data is provided to us by SWGCraft.com.

Nice site. I like the idea of how it's presented by each profession. My only small nitpick is that that black on blue color on the resource table is hard to read. Good work though.

I'm always on the lookout for better resource tools. I do have one suggestion, though:
Instead of making one stat over 800 the cutoff, it might be nice to have "scores" as cutoffs. On SWGCraft, I can plug in 50% OQ, 30% PE, 20% Flavor and have the resources listed by score. I realize some professions have overlapping scores for various attributes, but each attribute could be approached separately. Also, some resources only rarely climb over 800 in an important stat, but they are needed all the same.
It is a great concept. I'm suggesting this in hopes of seeing it become an even better one.

hi hylidex, a few others have been suggesting the same scoring feature to be added to the site. I personally think it is a great idea and will be working towards implementing it to the website.
edit - also we have been having some browser compatiblity issues with colors and text on some of the pages. This problem should be resolved soon.

Nice job.
The wieghted feature that Hylidex mentioned will be very time saving.
The resource lists by schematic is brilliant! It looks like you're missing some of the resources for some of the schematics though. It would be nice to be able to search on the schematic.
I'm using Mozilla here, and no problems viewing the site.

Hi,
Many schematics require generic resources eg metal, to save space on the page, we have listed the generic resources at the top of each profession page. A lot of schematics use the same resources, these too, are summarised at the top of the page.
The alternative would be to make a list of schematics and then jump to a new results page just for that schematic. Give us feedback on this point, the down side as we see it is that a profession wants to scan all schematics for the best resources available rather than a specific schematic. This would not behard to implement if users require it.
Once all the professions have been implemented we will be focussing on the resource weightings (based on experimental values).
Thank for the feedback on Mozzilla.
