Ok i've made it to novice bio engineer, but I have no clue of how to sample dna, or where to find it. I went out and killed some kaduu, thinking that I would just harvest dna off of them, but none to be found. Then I thought I would look in the lair, nothing there either. Were do I get it? Seems I'm getting off to a slow start.

There isn't a macro made for you when you become a novice BE, but it is a skill you aquire. Make a macro /sampleDNA and choose an icon (I chose the double helix since it was next to the skill) and put it on your quickbar. Then you simply go up to a creature, target it, and hit the key.

Voila!

Why the heck do we not have an icon for this allready? I think this is where every novice BE gets stuck. I know I did.

Yeah that's it for the macro, but note that the creature needs to be alive to sample DNA...just in case

Ok, I get it now, I really appreciate your feed back on this. They don't make it very easy to figure out, I looked through my macro's thinking that it would have it's own. When it didn't I thought it would pop up on the radial when you kill the thing. After that I gave it up for the evening and watched the Sopranos. LOL.

Is there any way to get DNA for creating creatures other than 1 sample at a time?
Do you mean can you get more then one sample form the beast you make? yes, but that comes with climbing the XP side of DNA sampling...i have gotten 4 samples...but usually 2 samples...i am only DNA sample 3 i got really lucky a few times and snagged 4 DNA samples like 3 or 4 times.

now if you are asking can you sample multiple critters? NOPE, no macro can help, no equipment....which in my humble opinion i think we should be able to use a device to get better results..kinda like aharvestor. maybe only usable from your inventory or you could set it down in the middle of a pack of whatever and it makes them go agro on in so it takes samples as it get hit and over time gets broken and non usable...that sound kind neat to any one else?

Just curious.. Im testing the waters in the BE field and havent seen many people that were BE's to ask this quesiton in game.

God I feel dumb, but i was trying the other night after getting novice BE to sample dna. For the life of me I could not find a hotkey or get it to appear on the radial menu. I tried a couple of different creatures but no luck. Obviously I am doing something wrong, Can somebody slap some sense into me on the matter.

yes, there is conveniently no macro for something we need i think 170k xp in to hit master. just make one with /sampledna (as stated above.)

The devs couldnt take the 30 secs to put in a macro, but they are trying to re-do the cloning process.
