Thread: Prices for Bio Tissues
I need to know what's a fair price for some bio tissues.
1) a crate of 10 Active Bio-sensors, +17/+17
2) a crate of 10 Enhanced Myoflex Treatment, +16/+16
Thanks
Price should be dependant upon your costs to make them. Have to include factory and vendor costs, costs of resources when purchased, some kind of set rate for your own time and expertise, et cetera, etc.
I, personally, charge 250cr per plus on tissues not exceeding +16, 300cr per plus on tissues with +17 or +18. I pay more for my resources than most other folks are willing to pay, but I buy and produce the besttissues - my customers know this, so they accept the price. I also use this to balance the cost on things like enhanced myoflex tissues, which would cost an insane amount if I had to charge for them based on resource costs alone - eggs are stupidly expensive and I simply don't have time to go spend an entire night trying to find the planet with the best eggs and then another night to collect them. This way I ensure that entertainers aren't burnt for buying my tissues(they get a further discount if they come to me personally) and all of my other customers pay a small "entertainer tax". If dancers and musicians ever get some love so they don't rely on other player charity, then that will probably change.. but for the time being.. I also have 2 dancers(1 master, 1 that was half way there before selling back) and I *know* that income for a non-AFK dancer/musicianis still horrificly low unless wearing newbie clothing.
Bottom line - the price is dependant upon your own personal costs to produce those crates. Don't short change yourself though, remember you pay maintenance on your shop, workshop, factories, harvesters and vendors.. it's not a lot, but adds up quickly, and should be reflected in the price. If those were on my vendors, they would costs 51000 credits and 40000 credits.. but they would also already be packaged as crates of synthetic cloth, too. The market on your server may be drastically different, but it's a starting price for you to work with at least. Cheers!
Thank you for your response ![]()
You're right, a lot of things to consider when setting the price.
You also have to decide whether or not to charge for all of those bonuses or half...what I mean is do you charge for +16 wound healing or +32 (since you are providing a bonus to both dancing and music). I personally only sell completed clothes, and choose to price it at 200 cr per plus (all of em...so +16/+16 would be 6400 added to the cost of the clothing which is 5-6cr/unit).
The price range per plus that others are using is anywhere between 150-250 cr per + ... of course, they are your tissues, so it is always up to you to decide. Make a business deal with some local tailors. Despite the fact that I am BE, my tailor alt has a deal with a BE in city for tissues...he has the resources to make them, I do not. I split my profits with him.
As for how my clothes sell at this price...very well...I make at least a sale a day, most days this is higher. I advertise on my galaxy forumsandword of mouth spreads my business. Keep it stocked and they will keep coming...know your product and be prepared to do custom orders.
Good luck.
I had the same issue when i started producing tissues. I found a Master tailor to work with, priced accordingly (i.e cover costs and make some profit while at the same time enabling the tailor to make Good clothes at a decent price). From constant conversations we have, her business is booming because I can provide tissues at a good rate with good stats. This then bumps back down to me for more tissues.
This results in an all round win...I make a profit....They make a profit...The customers get good glothes at a good price.
So my advice is go with your own instinct.....but advertise your services or contact some tailors as to their requirements. ![]()
I charge 3K per tissue for anything except Mimetic Circuirty, Active Tranquilizers and Enhanced Myoflex. I only sell in crates (except the odd schematic attempt I don't like) and I don't even put them on my vendor, I work directly with tailors. It may not seem like much per tissue, but my top three custoemers order betweed 100 and 200 units at a time of each kind, so the money adds up.
I am asking 6K per Enhanced Myoflex, and market price for mollusk and milk stuff. Here's the other part of my business model: I don't change my prices based on tissue quality. To buy from me the tailors have tell me a minimum acceptable quality, usually +15 or so, then I guarantee that number.
There is only one other BE on my server that I know of that can fil huge orders like that, so the tailors will certainly take waht they can get trust me. if they decide +4/+16 melee stun isn't good enough, they can shop around and buy a partial crate here and there from some mom and pop outfit, or wait for the other big order BE to make the +4/+18, or wait till i have the stuff to make +4/+18, or get bent.
But, the fact that they know they can make a schematic and churn out 150 synthetic cloth panels and then churn out 75 mask scent vests and 75 mask scentsunguards, and not have to futz around with making schematics and going blind in front of their factory half the day, keeps them coming back.
Getting harvested resources in large quantities is kind of a challenge, but once you have some capital you can shout for it and post on your server forums.

Ok, I am trying to figure out my prices as well. Are these prices fair? Too low? Too high? I'd really appreciate feedback from BEs on my server (Radiant), because I know each server varies.
25 +15 Injury/Wound treatment 70K
25 +15 Mask Scent/Camo 75K
25 +16 Bleed 60K
25 +15 Intim/Warcry 70K
25 +4 Melee/+16 Stun Defense 50K
I don't want to overcharge, but I don't want to make it less than what it's worth either.
Thanks for your input!
I was doing complex computations for tissues, but in the end I just got lazy. I charge 2500 cr/tissue (except enhanced myo and the other rare component ones). Too low? maybe, Too high? /shrug my vendorconstantly needs replenishing, and that is aside from the several tailors who just work directly with me and place orders themselves.
I use a simple standard of +16 tissues being around 2k each since you really don't need anything but current resources to make these. For my +17,+18 tissues, I sell em for 3k each. If you look at cost (under 100 resources per tissue), you still make a fair profit. And this can handle the 6-15cpu coststhat I often deal with. Since resources don't need to be great for +16, it's more likely in the 6cpu range. And the flora and wood with high OQ/PE/Flavor needed is already stockpiled in nice 100k stacks so no need to do price gouging for costs of that stuff. These are the prices for tailors. If someone wants to buy them from me and find a tailor I sometimes might charge more depending on how much order backfill I'm working on.
