Thread: Does every mob die after taking 1 to 3 samples?

Im grinding BE, and I was wondering if every mob dies after you take a sample? I noticed that some you can do up to 4 so far but dont know if there is a mob that can keep sampling with out searching endlessly for other creatures to sample. So Im asking if there is a mob that will nto die after sampling for its DNA?

There are a variety of actions that will happen when you sample a critter. It will die. It will aggro on you and either it or you will die. Or, you get as many samples as you need then blam it. Either way the critter ends up dead. You can just sample a few times and let the animal live to spawn another day.

I think the most I've gotten off an animal is 6 samples. It ended up dead.

While since I read it, but I'm sure some where in the FAQ it says the maximum times you can sample from any creature is 6. But they may die or go aggro before then.

Actually, since I finally hit Master, they seem to be surviving almost all the time. With natural spawns, I think that the most I ever got when leveling up was 4 per creature.

Try the technique of getting 2 missions close to each other. Then go back and forth between them, sampling each creature only once. I find that I can get almost unlimited samples from them this way. I don't know if it works at the lower levels, as I only discovered the method after I mastered. It has to do with the lair reseting when you go more than 150m away. It should produce more creatures for you to sample even if you do kill some.

There are some REAL oddities with this. Generally I can sample low CL stuff (e.g. lesser plains bols) like 6-10 times before it finally dies or aggros. Something like a bark mite burrower I can usually get 2-3 off of, something like a mutant rancor, 1-2 is more common. But the thing that *really* confounds me is that I have absolutely terrible luck with huurton pups. I swear, I don't think I've ever gotten 3 samples off of one before it aggros (it always aggros, never dies). It would be hilarious if it weren't so annoying.

I don't mess with the pups anymore. I can mix venom filled arachne with voritor dasher and come up with a rocking CL10 using re-sampling. The final build is three re-sampled DNA and two yard trash DNA. If I use noxious kamarith I can make a CL10 having to re-sample just once. Again the final build is the same, three resampled and two yard trash.

I got three samples off a mutie before it died. I seem to get one sample from a bark mite burrower queen before it kicks off. Many of the high level animals give few samples before they either die or chase me half way across the planet.

Last night I sampled huurton pups and kept getting 6-8 samples from each before they aggro'd. I don't think any of them actually died from the sampling, I had to kill them when they bit me.

But I have noticed there are some that only let you get 1 or 2 samples and then die, Gurrecks, Blurrgs, Webmasters. (coincidence they're all level 50?) Same with King and Queen Merek Harvesters.

Hahahaha, I don't know what skills everyone has, but the usual case for me with high level creatures is two or three samples before I die.

The number of samples you can get is inversely proportional to the difficulty of getting the samples. You can get 10 samples from a gnort, but a mutant rancor will keel over and collapse on you from a single sample, and you can then begin the half-hour process of getting within 15 meters of the next one to get one sample and have it die.

It's a shame we cannot get solo missions for mutant rancor lairs, we could make all the cash we need from the missions and never have to make another cl 76 pet.

This is the list. As the creature level ghets higher move up in the list. As your sample level gets higher move down in the list.

1) FAIL - ATTACK
2) SUCCEED - ATTACK
3) SUCCEED - DIE
4) FAIL - NO ATTACK
5) SUCCEED - NO ATTACK
