Here's some speculation on the CURB with respect to Bio-Engineers and specifically the super CL10's. I'm not part of the team or close to anyone who is, so any relation to actual happenings is completely coincidental. #:/

From the Combat Upgrade: Armor System Enhancements of a while back we can see that they're removing armor piercing from weapons:

The primary change seen in weapons is the removal of the armor piercing system and addition of an energy level setting on a player's weapon.

Obviously the damage calculations to armor will have to change, and they do, to a new General Protection number:

The damage mitigation stats on armor are being changed completely in the combat upgrade. While the names of the stats will remain the same, we have devised a new number range and backend meaning. The new types are General Protection and Specific Protections. General protection will range from 0 to 6,000. The general protection of armor will be the baseline stat that reflects how much absorption armor can take against all incoming damage.

So for pets, where is that number going to come from? Obvious choice is fortitude. Right now we have armor or no armor depending which side of 500 fortitude we're on. You can craft one of the Super CL10's, stop experimenting at fortitude of 498, and hit non-CH. One more point and it's light armor and CL22. If they take fortitude into consideration after the upgrade, more than likely the general protection number will knock the existing super-recipes out of CL10.

I don't even know what it would do to current pets. If they recalculate the CL using the creature's fortitude it could potentially invalidate all existing uber pets. However that could affect all CH's and their pets as well. If they reverse engineer the GP# from the CL then existing things may stay intact, though who knows.

I can't say anything without breaking the NDA. It's like if I even hint at anything I get hunted down by the FBI and dragged off into a dark room. It sucks.

lol yeah I know, its frustrating because so much of what people are speculating is just because it makes good sense, but since I KNOW if it is or isnt going to change that way, I cant say anything about it, even though if I wasnt in the NDA I would say the exact same thing anyway, because it makes sense

Hold on, did this thing start already? Or is that something else that can't be commented on? I've asked that before but you two sound like it's already active.

Are you perhaps hinting at what happens to Jedi that get visibility after the CURB? You could be done for saying that...

I know you're all under NDA's, but I wish the powers that be would let you guys post something, anything, on how it's going. Just an "it's going well" would be nice.

You could always talk about it to erm...trusted individuals via email (non-forum) which is external to SWG...
