Thread: question about BE pets
I would need *some* Creature Handling yes?
Could I just Novice CH and buy one of these cats and control it properly?
If not, what other skills will I need?
I don't think anyone will know until they put their pet certification system in. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to have any level cat in your datapad, but what you'll be able to actually call into use is a bit up in the air at the moment. As of the last official statment, I think they said it would be tied to the taming skill. A lot of players have come up with better systems by far, however, so it's possible the developers might draw upon some of those ideas. Until it actually gets implemented, however, the question just can't be answered.
At this very moment, you cantame and usea grand wrix or a sludge panther, if that's what you're asking. Both are relatively large cats, although grand wrixes are pretty darned hard to find. Whether or not you'll be able to use either cat as a novicewhen "the big patch" goes live is another thing entirely. I'm guessing not, but it's unclear. I'm pretty sure something like a swamp gurrcat would be usable by a novice even after the changes, though. They're not particularly impressive, but they are cats.

ive recently bought some BE pets for the first time. I noticed that their resists are listed as numbers witout percent symbols. like my arachnid shows a resist of kinetic 45 instead of say 25% like a wild creature i tamed. is this number in a point system or is its simply 45 percent. Also i was wondering what effectiveness is, that is another stat that shows up. I wish their was a manual that could be read that was up to date on each proffession and core aspect of the game, but i guess human interaction is a big part of this game therefore the need to post on a messege board to have and understanding of basic systems and components of the game /shakes_head
Yes, the 45 means 45%. And effectiveness means how much extra damage and stuff like that it does to those types. Hope I helped
Not true. Effectiveness is the same as special resistence when it comes to combat.
