Thread: combat level retraction and question
Also, if I remember right I had lvl 55 with just Master Rifles on TC back when frogs were active. So the second combat mastery does not add as much level as the first.
Answer: not really.
I was only able to figure out the max CL for a mBioE (CL17) ONLY (with NO other skills beyond pre-req's) by using the respec options.
there is a lot of speculation on the math behind the CL, and I don't know of any 'template calculator' that has successfully penetrated the formula. I'm keeping an eye out for threads that discuss this, but the test data is very difficult to obtain.
this IS one of the issues I'm presenting to the devs.
thank you for posting to dev's. I ama convert to BE. woke up after CU... mster fencer/master doc. combat level 80 - but I could not move.... had to drop skill points! My RL hubbie was MBE/master rifles. he woke up a level 57. booooooooo. time for respec.
I am the MBE/Doc now w/ no combat. level 57 .... hubbie is MBH/Master Rifles. level 80. Other account went tank and got a level to be able to use the stim D's. Could not function in the wild on stim C's and class 57 MBE/ "insert any combat master here" I tried a bunch of options and nothing w/ MBE willdo it unless you drop the master. and go for combat. Hope they decide to fix the fixes.![]()
Yesterday I was feeling pretty good about the CU. I have made Dorelli a master CM/almost master pistolleer with a combat level of 74 at the moment. My alt, who is a twilek, was a pure crafter - I dropped master DE on her and made her the master BE for a CL of 17.
I then grouped them, and went to Lok. I left Dor in our house on Tatooine and just took B'nari (the level 17 BE) and purposefully let her take a bit of damage. I was amazed b/c even with Dor on another planet, the damage mitigation worked perfectly from the group - b was taking no more than 97 points of damage from some creatures (level 30's+) and no more than 14 from some NPC's b/c she was wearing a PSG. She was able to sample and have the beast aggro and get away from it with no problem.
Soooo....I'm feeling optimistic ...and this ought to work for you and your husband as well.

And that is exactly why combat feels soooo wrong now. I am currently lvl 60 (Master Rifles / Doc 2200 / BE 0004 and some other stuff) and went with a hunting group. Turns out the only lvl 80 in the group has to leave, in mid-fight. Its not fun if a creature turns from blue lvl 79 to red 79 while you are tanking it because group level dropped from 80 to 75.
I cant understand why people that are star systems away make you fight better just because you are in a group, and I also cant understand why a critter has X abilities when I am grouped, but Y abilities when I am not grouped. Sooooo wrong. If I wanted that, I would be in WoW or EQ2. Just this alone makes CU a "downgrade" in my opinion.
