Finnaly masteredBE lastnight, while i was finishin up the last bit of xp I was playin w/ dna and makin some pets. I tried to follow the guide here on the fourms and came out w/ some really high CL pets (150+). After several attempts i just randomly added dna to the template and made a Angler. It came out CL10, w/ 230 max damage. I was like cool, so i tried to mimic what i added... another 160 Angler. Frustrated again, i added random dna just to see what would happen. Came up w/ a CL9 Mite or some green lookin creature, 218 max damage, 2.8k health. Can someone please point out what I should be looking for when doing the generic templates? Or point me to another article. Oh, the 150+ creatures all came out w/ Medium armor. Thanks in advance

It's that busted Fortitude stat FWIW. Keep total under 500 to avoid armor and you'll have better results.

Your "working" animals had a finished fortitude below 500. Fortitude determines armor. Yes, armor has been removed from wild animals but someone forgot to tell the BE developer. BE pet crafting still calculates fortitude over 500 as AR1 and fortitude at 1000 as AR2 (which is why your high level animal had medium armor). If wild animals used the same algorythm, 90% of all wild animals would have medium armor and have a CL over 150+ because of their 1000 fortitude.

This is only one of the over looked aspects of the CURB, which the developers firmly believe we all love, despite all the negative comments and cancelled accounts.

If you get a chance, I'd be interested in knowing what the "to hit" values of your working animals are. Anything that I've been able to craft at a tamable level has a to hit of 0.0
