I'ma new BE and I can't find any around to help me figure this out, so I'm hoping you guys can help me. I have to general questions.
First of which is when making a BSN the optional ingredient is Research Data. I'm wondering how I can get Research Data.
Second question is how can I make a BE-Pet for non CH that can attack and be mounted. I'm Currently just a 3403 BE.
Thanks in advanced

Ok for the "Secret research data"...that's a secret for the 4 BE's that know, and noone else
Just kidding...as far as anyone knows it hasn't been put into the game yet (though in theory it will be eventually) even though we have a slot for it. dont' worry about it- it's not vital and not required to make stuff.
As for the pet question, you'll find that most be's are very protective of their good pet recipies, but one that's pretty common is the voritor dasher-VD-VD- hurton pup-HP recipie. Tinker around with it and you sould get a decent pet that can fight. For mounting, the skin (creature you make) is what determines if it is mountable or not. I've also heard it has to be lvl 8 (though i cant' remember where and so you may want to disregard that), and it DOES have to grow up before a CH can train it for a mount. If you want a list of mountable pets then check the FAQ (handy thing it is

So I craft them but a CH has to train it before I can sell it for use by a non-CH?

I'd also like some strategies on grinding the Sampling tree for BE? Any Ideas or suggestions?

No, you craft it and it can be sold. Whomever the owner is can tame it and it has to grow to 3/4 its full size before being able to be trained as a mount. With 0 points in the DNA sampling tree, you'd only be able to use yard trash as DNA donors so it wouldn't have very high HAM.
There are strategies for sampling DNA in the FAQ located in the stickies.

@ Novice - Starport yard trash
@ Sampling 1 - Starport Yard Trash
@ Sampling 2 - Lesser Plains Bols
@ Sampling 3 - Piket Longhorns
You may wish to be more daring and try higher level creatures but you will have a lower success rate and a higher chance of agro.

I am new to the BE profession and am after some assistance.
Mainly about creatures,ie what is the creature food that is required to make creatures and where/how can i get/harvest some.

The creature food can be any kind of creature meat you harvest once you kill a creature. You must have novice scout to harvest resources. Once you are trained in scout the radial menu over creature corpses will give the harvest option.

Take a Master Ranger with you when you go hunting and the amount you harvest from your dead critters will increase dramatically.

bear in mind that resource quality, in the case of pets, doesn't matter.
