Thread: Bio-Clothing Questions

I'm looking into buying some Bio-enhanced clothing and I'm trying to get some info on how the whole thing works. I know that the tissues are made by the BE's and put into clothing by a tailor. I'veheard that they can be put into sockets only, which means that clothing that has more sockets is better off. I've already got some clothing with available sockets so I am wondering if tissues can just be put into the clothes I already have. If someone could just explain how exactly the tissues are put into clothing by a tailor that would help me out. Also, I have heard that certain tissues will only go into certain clothing, so I'd like to know how that works out if it is true. I saw on the FAQ that the max for a clothing enhancement is +25. I would like to know if you could have say +13 enhancement on a pair of pants and a +12 enhancement of the same stat on a shirt and have them stack to give you a +25 overall. The last question is about decay. I have noticed that I can wear my clothing even if it has been completely decayed and disabled, I am wondering if the stat enhancements on bio-clothing will still apply if the piece of clothing has decayed all the way and been disabled. Thanks in advance for the answers.

The tissue BE's make go into the cloth panels tailors make (i.e. reinforced fiber panel, synthetic cloth panels) and then the clothes are made from with the panels.

You can usually get the +25 from synthetic panels - which only hold the non-combat enhancements. Like +injury treatment, +musician healing.

The combat mods are usually the reinforced fiber panels. To my knowledge you can only add one reinforced panel to each piece of clothing. So you probably won't get the +25 to the combat mods on a single piece of clothing.

/bump, still looking for the answer about the decay question. Whether skill mods on clothing are negated once the piece of clothing has competely decayed since clothing is still wearable at this stage.

Since the UI misreports stats such as that I'd say they aren't actually working.

Untrue on the single reinforced panels per peice of clothing. ive dabbled in tailor and saw that some peices of clothing required more than one, and in many instances, required factory made reinforces panels or synth clothes... which would mean the tissues would also need to be made in factory.

Maybe a better answer can be found in the tailor forum.

Hi mates - Master Tailor here ...

Not trying to invade your forum - just reading - My best friend is a Master BE (lives down the road...anyway).

Here's some short answers to what I think are your questions: 1. Bleed, Camo/Mask Scent, Stun/Melee Defense, Intimidate/Warcry go into Reinforced Fiber Panels (RFPs). Those cloths are used for making most of the outdoorwear 'field wear' in the Tailor Line. Spec Ops dusters, Reinforced pants, Bandoliers, etc.

Taming, Entertainer, Injury/Wound Treatment go into Synthetic Cloth - that is, the cloth for all the soft clothing: Shirts, pants, Gunman's Duster, etc.

Boots, Gloves, Belts, and Backpacks take no cloth, so cannot hold BE mods.

Tailor items that require RFPs or Synth cloth carry the BE mod from the tissue that the Tailor used to make the cloth component. For instance, Padded Workpants (the pants with metal knees) take a pair of factory produced synth cloth and an RFP...so I commonly make those with Melee/Stun Defense and Injury/Wound treatment. I have found a cap of +25 of a skill on a single piece of clothing.

Identical pieces of modified cloth in the same component stack (3 identical SynthCloth for a shirt, for instance) grant only one cloth's BE mod. That same cloth in 2 different 'slots' in the schematic grant the BE mod for each slot they're in. A pair of Striped Slacks, for example, requires 2 SynthCloth in 2 schematic slots, so will grant 2 sets of mods (2 x +12 Injury/Wound Treatment).

Sockets are a completely different animal. They utilize the skill enhancing attachment 'tapes' that humanoid mobs drop, and loose debris piles surrender.

The most painful thing I get, as a Tailor, is people coming to me with their crate of tissues, hoping I can make advanced tailor items for them. Since my advanced items require factory-made components (think similarly to your petstims), I have to turn those tissues into factory cloth before I can use 'em.

That's why I work almost exlusively with one MBE

Hope this helps!
