Thread: Should HAM and Kinetic be the only factor?

should cl's be determined by this?

i'm hearing there is a bug b/c we make high ham level 10 pets.

but you're claiming it's bug b/c you only look at the HA (M is usually low) and the kinetic. don't mind the ferocity, blast, energy, stun, acid, etc. it's To Hit, it's speed.

all you guys look at is the HAM and kin and say it's too high and must be bugged.

it seemsyou just take a small picture of the pet and assume it's gotta be bugged. you fail to realize other factors go into determining the pet's cl.

still some things, like resampling do make pets that seem outta whack. but how often will they come around? were talking 20 or so dna to make one pet. and god forbid a crit failure comes by and tears your work apart.

we're here to provide good pets to people. we're able to do that now, so be happy and keep your customer's happy.

the only thing i can think of is that the dev's have their own oppinion on what makes a good pet while we have ours.

CL for mobs in the game take everything into consideration. The flaw is that clones are working on a totally seperate system which is what has gotten us into this mess in the first place. I personally feel that the rating system that has been applied to the game should also apply to use because it's weights HAM, damage and resistances in a very fair manner.

One of the things to take note of with mobs in the game is how kinetic and energy protection is much lower across the board. This is because these are very common damage types and protection to them makes the mob much harder to hurt thus it drastically increases the CL rating. Take the Merek harvesters for example. The only way they manage to have 75% kinetic is to be vulernable to energy so that counter balances the fact they are very hard to hurt with melee attacks.

Wild CL10 animals have less than 1000 HAM and no resists generally. Maybe a weak special, usually not a ranged attack.

Should bio-engineers be able to improve on nature and give us better pets? Yes.

Should they be able to provide pets that are 6x better than a wild animal of the same CL? No.

again, the best cl10 pet. 820 HAM MEDIUM ARMOR 40% resists to everything.

we should be able to keep up with that.

Well im surprized someone managed to get medium armor to stick from the old dna. Assuming what your saying is true anyway which I doubt.

Ahh well remember that droids are supposed to be preferrable to pets, thats part of the starwars theme. Don't be surprized in Janurary when you see that the combat droids have significant advantages in combat over your common pet. The difference is that droids won't be allowed special attacks like poison or intimidation. So in effect pets will be able to fight at a higher level then they are based of such status effect while droids will just be raw number crunchers who deal and recieve damage. If they're CL10 then you will see they can only fight as high as CL10 unlike pets which can go higher.

Who in the heck is one-starring every single one of Tal-N's posts?

majority of people want these extra specials and damage but will rarely see a benifit from it. if you're leveling up, a low damage high resist tank is what you need. someithing that does 20pts of damage w/ no specials would be good enough. the player is the damage dealer, the pet is just the diversion.

as a BH i tried using a probot to take marks with. they gave me those few seconds i need to close the gap to kd them and hit em w/ the llc. the probot only got hit 2 or so time each fight. it barely would go 1/2 HAM from the fight. marks generally hit as hard a pc's do.

personally i want to use a droid. they should make a Droid Handler profession too. then you'll slowly see the death of CH and BE's and we'll get back to being star wars again

Well even the low end BH marks are tough customers. I'd say around CL30 so it's no wonder your probot got whacked.
