ACK!!!!! I made a set of twins over the weekend for a friend of mine. He sent me an email saying WT_!!! when I tamed one of the pets it had all the commands. I have seen this on a number of non-CH pets right around CU (Pre- and Post-) but have not seen it for quite some time.

Much like the Slice Hound color palette, this appears to be a random bug. What is bad for CHs now however is that a pet cannot be trained by someone else if you intend to teach it abilities. Not sure if this will be recognized by the system as being trained by someone other than the owner but since he tamed it I'm hoping the system recognizes that the pet only had one owner.

Wow - it seems like the system is getting mixed up between droids and pets and it probably related to the bug I found recently ... which was ... that as a somewhat more than novice CH but not anywhere near to master CH .... I tried to train a new droid with my custom commands, it would only give me the limited set of commands that I had available to train pets as a CH!

This is not very good is it

Its my understanding that a pet has to earn XP for it to be un-teachable by another CH.

Anakin: Master, I think my lightsaber is getting dull. Its not doing nearly as much damage as it used to.
Obi-Wan: O.k. when we're done showing the youglings around the temple, we'll stop by the bazaar and you can buy a new crystal. I hope you've got a couple million credits saved up for this.
Anakin: WHAT?!!?? I don't have THAT kind of cash!
Obi-Wan: Well you could try sharpening it on these younglings. I've got a headache and all their questions are driving me NUTS!
Anakin: hmmm.... Sharpen my lightsaber on younglings...... hmmmmmm.....
Obi-Wan: uh, that was a joke Anakin. I'll spot you the cash for a new crystal THIS time, but next time you're on your own.

The only thing a pet gaining xp affects is us learning special abilities from a pet. We can still level it and teach it abilities like normal. Since BE pets do not come with specials anymore, this won't affect Creature Handlers using them.

Geez what a mixed up mess! LOL

Let 'ol Grambacca the MCH learn ya a thing or two here gang!

1) CHXP = XP earned by a CH (i.e. player) for using his pets in combat, training them commands, and taming a pet.

2) Pet Training XP = XP gained by the PET being used in combat.

3) /train = The command a CH uses to teach (i.e. train) a Pet one of the new Specials.

4) Specials = The new special abilities that come innate on some pets. A CH can learn this ability from the pet and then teach it to other pets.

Now listen up here are the rules. A CH can use any pet he can control and will recieve CH xp from any actions performed in item 1 above.

Once a CH uses a pet that has an innate ability in combat the pet gains training Xp (item 2 above). A pet that has gained training xp can teach his innate special ONLY to the original CH that tamed it. The pet cannot be traded to another CH for him to learn that ability from the pet.

/train is used 2 ways. One in targted mode to teach a new special to a pet. Secondly in UNtargeted mode a window will pop-up listing all teh specials the CH has learned.

Specials can be taught to any pet the CH owns.

But if you are trying to gain CH xp by training commands (not abilities) to your pet and that pet knows all the commands when you tame it, you do not get any xp for changing the command.

This bug has been around a while and although it is random, it does hurt the non-MCH as they are trying toearn as much CH xp as they can to progress to Master - sure you can discount the xp for training commands but at say 400 a pop and you are able to teach 10 commands that is still 4k CH xp you are loosing out on.
