So you can sing the blues.
I've been grinding my way up BE over the last week or so, just a few hours here and there so as not to burn myself out.
Got DNA Sampling 1 box (joy!) and headed to Kashyyyk to sample some roo-roos (CL 18). Shouldn't be too bad of a pace since it even worked sometimes just at plain novice.
Landed a few samples in the first 20 minutes or so - got around 2500xp. Then thedrought hit.
I logged out after going 0-55 on roo-roos. Even changed it up between a small group of three of them (after failing 30 in a row on one single one) - thinking that particular one may be bugged in some way.
55 fails in a row. /grumble
And for the record, at DNA sampling 1 - my sampling skill mod is +30, and with master scout (working toward ranger) my CL is 17 - so there should be no glaring disparity there.

It's posts like this that remind me why I have not rushed into pet crafting. Keep at it though, you will get there.
By the way, is pet crafting in your future,or is this just a grind to get to master so you can make tissues/meds?

Planning on running the whole gamut: Tissues, pets, stims, the lot.
Nights like that one make me think my time might've been better spent on a self-destructive drinking binge.
Or maybe I could combine the two - drinking binge + DNA sampling.
Might at least enjoy laughing at a critter named a 'roo-roo' if I'm silly drunk.

Maybe I should launch my ship then land at Kashyyyk again, now that I think of it.
After I died while sampling there a few nights ago, I cloned back in at Kachiro, and it thought that I was continually swimming. So I couldn't sample, change standing/sitting/prone/etc, or anything. "Cannot do that while swimming" BS. Which was funny, because there was no water anywhere to be seen from where I was - running all over the Kachiro village. After launching into space and landing again I could chance posture.
Maybe I ended up glitched and my DNA sampling was reading at +0 or something. Who knows.
Or maybe I just hit a really really really unlucky streak.

This happens to us all - been a MBE for a long time and failed 30 times in a rowon nightspider DNA. Go figure. We have good days and we have bad days but it's when the bad days come one right after the other that we begin to get nervous.

If anyone starts to get the annoying 'you can't sample DNA from that target' bug after they start sampling animals from a lairand can remember exactly what they did during the time between when they could sample those animals and not being able to - can you please mail me with all the details that you remember?
I am trying to figure out why this happens so that we can help the QA people and the devs reproduce it on a consistant basis and therefore fix it.
