Thread: Greeting and Questions from a Novice
- First, regardng the Tissues line.Since I am aiming at alternating the Tissues and Medicines lines, I'm wondering what the new best Xp product might be now. The FAQ lists constrictor cloths to Tissues 1, but since those seem to be gone from my schematic listing, I was wondering if there were any better choices.
- I have been making Multisacchride tissues to get a handle on the principles of stats and interactions in practice mode. But was unsure if I could be doing better.
- I'm using Ornachek and those friendly entertainer folksfor aboost, but honestly, my friend needs better than I can produce at the moment, and I hate to leave her waiting. We've found hera source, but I feel like I'm dropping my end.
- There was a post earier in the day regarding this topic, but the reponse was unable to give any feedback regarding the new Medical items. I had used those little Chemical Delay Release Mechanisms to make my way to Novice, but I wanted to learn more of the process. I honestly never spent much time crafting as a medic. I made my line off the CDRMs and wasn't all that thrilled to go back after I was done. But, they got me to Novice, with the junk I had laying around thehouse, so I can't complain too loudly.
- As you have probably surmised, I'm not a long time crafter. But since I've never been a "Beat them into submission" combat type either. I'm looking forward to learning a profession that supports my own skills effectively. While I can't use a stim on another player, they can use it to keep themselves alive, thereby fufilling my goal as a Doctor: Keeping people alive!
- In regards to medicine crafting itself. I'm beginning to get a handle on the idea ofthe sub compnents arecomprosed of, if only that. I'm wondering what advice you can give me on these.
- Primarily, how drastically do they affect my final products? A reminder, that since I am still a Novice, I only have acess to Stim A & B's and only the handful of experimenttion points. I've started pressing them into power. That seems to be the concensus of the forum as far as Medicines go. Raw Power over Charges.
- I'm just beginning my path.... I'm still nervous about the Pet Crafting process, but it is the kind of nerves you'd get as you reach the top of a rollercoaster and peer down. Once I've firmly understood the princples of the Tissue and Medicine lines, I'll look at starting to make pets....Who am I kidding I'll jump over as soon as I have a loose grip! :smileyvery-happy
ets look like the challenge of a lifetime and I'm eager to get started!
I thank you all for you advice and suggestions and look forward to a future of long and intersting conversations with you all!
Thank you.
Welcome to the BE forums - a generally helpful bunch (particularly for people like you who have apparently read some of the other posts before asking).
I share your sentiment on pet crafting. It scares the heck out of me. I can't get beyond the initial impression I got of it -nothing like any craftingyou have ever attempted in-game before. However, the meds and tissues are very well understood.
You should probably not worry about making competitive tissues for your friend until you get yourself 8 or 9 experimentation points. At that point, you will be able to fill the bonus bar of nearly any chef tissue you try. Concentrate on the crafting branch to get there. I think you are on the right track in that regard though. You could be in a big rush to get there and burn your clicking finger out making MNS or MSD in practice mode. You would learn nothing from the grind, but you would be able to make competitive products quicker. The best xp per resource med item is advanced biological effect controllers. But they requrie 2 planet-specific resources, so it can be hard to get enough at times unless you are willing to drop a couple harvesters and get your own (my personal recommendation).
Medical subs add to the final product on a 1 for 1 basis. For example, if you find a better Lok Wild Wheat and can increase your aBEC power by 5, then your stim Ds made with those will have 5 more power. That is not precisely true, but it works for most needs. There are actually fractions on the subcomponents power and charges that are used when assembled into a stim. For example, if you have aBEC with 56.4p, aCRDM 60.3, aLS 71.3 - your total power contributed by the subs will be 188 rather than the 187 that is displayed on the subcomponents themselves. That level of detail does not come into play until you hit the very top end of the scale, because the difference between a 1103 and 1104 power stim D isnt very much, but if those fractions help you get over the 1200 mark without using loot, that can be a nice feather in your cap.
Good Morning, I wanted to thank you for your kind assistance!
I've downloaded the Tissue Calculator now and will be checking the website deeper when I get home tonight!! It looks like aamazing source ofinformation!
Work seems determined to get int the way of things...but I guess the bills must be paid! I'll be looking forward to trying out all I've learned this coming weekend and I'll let you know in the near future how I've progressed...
My many thanks,again!
I think that you will make a great asset to the BE community and welcome! I think it's great to take it one step at a time ... it can be overwhelming at first since they've crammed 3 diffrent (maybe even four different) crafting professions into BE ![]()
med and tissue crafting boggles my mind - the hunt for resources and the STRESS to keep up with chef and tailor demands? I can only admire ...
Basically, it's been asked a few times - what item gives the best xp ... i think we need to go systematically thru the entire BE repetoire and make sure SWGCraft is up to date for BE's and with the xp values given (not in practice mode). I'm happy to help with that ...
When you get ready for pet crafting ... yell- well after you read the FAQ's and try it
... I'm not sure if you are planning on being a master BE - pet crafting is more easily done with the full DNA sampling line ... !
And again .. welcome -- Dor
