I have finally decided to give up some CL and go Master Ranger / Master Bio-engineer. I might place a bit of CH in this template for the full RP aspect, but that is not the question at hand.
I have come across a spawn of 996OQ Dantooine Leathery Hide. I managed to harvest 350K of it, and this is my question:
What "organic" and "creature structural" slots can I place Hide into so that it does not shift importance of PE and FL to the other resources? (This is a similar issue when using Wood in a crafting schematic.)

I think hide can go in any generic Organic slot. It's been so long that I can't remember. (I know I rarely did so if it is possible. Back then getting decent quantities of hide was just not worth the effort for a +1 in my tissues.)

The reason I believed it fit into structural is that when you use a 30K resource deed, it categorizes Creature Food and Creature Structural, structural being hide, bone, and horn. Hide can go into any Organic slot, and this stuff is too uber to pass up which is why I harvested so much of it. However, I still don't know if using Hide as the general "Organic" ingredient will mean that the other ingredients will need high PE and FL, or just PE if I'm not crafting medicines and skill enhancing tissues.

If you use something without PE or FL then yes, their weighting in the other resources becomes more important. You can use this to your advantage if you find a meat with so-so OQ but good PE/FL and using wood (or hide or bone) in the organic slot.
Thinking back some more, I do seem to recall being able to use hide or bone in the organic slot.
Hide might count as structural, but I cannot say for certain one way or the other. If it did, I probably focused on bone since I needed it for a variety of things and it made it easier to keep my inventory straight.
The other more current BEs will have to verify or refute what they can be used in for sure.
