Thread: Is this intended?

Since they put in the weapon/armor delay I have notice a couple of things in PvP and PvE that disturb me. I literally can not do anything but run now after I fire off a special. If I try to mount my bike after killing a lair with flame single 2 I have to wait for the FT delay before my toon will mount it. If Iincap somone in PvP I have to wait for my FT delay before I can DB them. If I get KD'd or PD'd it seems I have to wait for my FT delay before I can stand up (needs more testing). This is all rather frustrating. In PvP right now I get maybe 1 DB out of 10 incaps because I can not DB fast enough.Targetting also seems out of whack. It seems that if I try to target someone else immediately following a special my combat queue does not change to that person even if I have cleared it. I have to wait for my special timer to finish before I can even queue up my specials for my new target. Is this intended?

I'm not sure if it's intended, but it sure is annoying. The only things that don't get delayedare group/guild chat and eating spices, lol. The delay to dbis the worst... in PvP these days, it's rare enough that I'm given the opportunity to db, and a 5 second delay has already stopped me from dbing a few jedi.

I have a guy in my guild that had this exact issue. The jedi was incapped on the ground and he is spamming DB. Before he can DB the Jedi a doc runs through heals the Jedi and he force ran away.

Yes one of our many draw backs. Im still waiting for the damage we are sepose to have to out wiegh all of our weaknesses.

Yep...the combat queue delay is one of the most frustrating parts of being a Commando...it prevents us from doing anything but running around...has been this way since I can remember, even before the the Weap Delay went in...Since the Weap/Armor delay went in it just feels more noticable...


What many people don't realize is that every profession has a Combat Queue delay after their specials...This delay is built on a speed formula that takes into account speed of the weapon as well as speed skill mods of the user...it uses this formula to determine just how long that delay post special lasts...Most professions have weapons that are much faster then ours plus they have much higher speed mods, therefore their combat queue delay is less noticable...


This is exactly why I'm pushing very hard to get us +30 Flame Thrower Speed added to the Master Commando box...This should take our 8 to 10 second delay and reduce it down to at least 4 or 5 seconds....this may not seem like much, but it will raise our Damage Per Second (DPS)rate...It will also help alleviate much of what you are experiencing with every action going into a queue post special (the wait will be much less)...3 seconds may not seem like a whole lot, but in a fight, it can feel like an eternity...

Trust me it feels like an eternity. I think I am just going to find a rifleman partner and split the faction with him from DBs.

Yeah this is extremely annoying. It makes it feel like huge lag on everything you do. I feel like one fo the problems for sure that needs to fixed is that combat delay timers need to end as soon as we end combat. So after I kill a layer I don't have to stand there for 10 seconds to wait to get back in my vehicle. I don't think that giving Master Commando +30 speed is the answer either, cause of the Devs unwillingness to fix the rest of Commando trees it still does not make it worth having the 3 other trees that don't work worth anything. Garvin, is Commando ever going to get any love? Fix the HAR, give us back our strength and duration to the Flame DOT since there is lots of ways to prevent the DOT or to put it out now.

The +30 is not the end all be all fix request...it's more of something to help pacify us while we wait for our other fixes...I'm hoping (practically begging) for other fixes to come by or with Publish 10...I'm not sure how many we'll get, but life sure would be a bit more barable if at the very least our delay was shortened...


As for the combat queue going away after a fight has ended...while I agree that it would be nice, it leaves ample room for possible abuse as I'm sure the devs have considered...imagine what a Commando/Smuggler could do with an Flame Special/Feign Death combo...or some other route like that to completely avoid the Combat Queue by doing a special, endingthe fight, starting it again with a special, ending the fight, rinse and repeat...


Personally, if I had my say, the Combat Queue Delay would be tied solely to the Flame Specials or at the most other Combat Offense Abilities...In otherwords, allow non-combat related things during the "Combat Queue Delay" like heals, mounts, etc...heck, we can't even sit during the Combat Queue Delay...I would think that there is a way for the system to code Combat Related Things vs. Non-Combat Related Things...and all I think that should be limited during that delay should be offensive moves...not defensive or non combat things...

I was attacked by a bh earlier today and she was hitting me with root. As I was getting shot, the root didn't break. I was taking upwards of 3500 dmg each root and it took about 10 seconds to finally unbreak. Is this working as intended or is this an exploit? I would have easily been able to get away had I run the correct direction, I managed to run a total of 2300m, and by the time I realized I probably could have killed the BH, I was at half force and decided I wasn't going to manage killing him at that point, and I got killed, I was wondering if it was an exploit or not. It would have be nice to report this person, but either way, it was my own stupidity that I died, and I can't ask to be reimbursed for my exp.

Ok, I'll report the exploit as soon as I get home and ask that I not be reimbursed for xp, though all my force was used up healing while rooted. This Imperial on Imperial crap is getting incredibly old as well...

uhm...are you crazy? root doesn't break on damage this is not an exploit...wow jedi can come up with some crazy theories...




a MEZ breaks on damage, not root...that would be paralyze or your own move Stasis....



soon i'll see a post about how shooting a jedi from range is an exploit, how saber not 1 shotting people is an exploit, and how jedi having to grind xp instead of just starting as Yoda is an exploit.


it should be noted i'm directing the "are you crazy" to the guy who answered that it was an exploit...its not the original poster's fault for just asking.
