Thread: Problems with BE Pet Special Attacks
1. Getting the desired specials consistantly. I can't figure out the pattern/system for passing specials on from DNA to templates.
2. Getting my BE pets to do their special attacks. They just don't seem to do it when I tell them.
Any help/suggestions would be great!
Thanks.
Wolf.
I can't get my tamed BE pets to do their specials either. I think they must be bugged.

I've made lots of BE pets and the only ones I've gotten to use their specials are gurrcats and Hurtons, also jaxscolor doesn't work for me.
I haven't had any problem getting the Ranged trained on my pets.
Maybe it's a bug in particular skins/models? Works fine in the Kaadu skin (for me at least).
I've also noticed that SA's don't seem to always happen on command, but the next time the pet does a SA it'll use the SA you told it to use.At least it seems that way to me.
Problems with Special Attacks,
On CH forum, current theory is this. Get away from the animal you want to attack. Tell your pets to Follow Them. As they run toward the animal, tell them to use Special or Ranged Attack.
This is most likely a bug, but no other reliable method is known to actually command a special attack successfully.
If you are some distance from your prey and give Attack followed by Ranged Attack command, this sometimes produces Ranged Attack. The Follow Them method seems to work better.
Remember, you have no reliable way to be sure your pet is not just choosing to use Ranged or Special on its own.
Just wanted to note, the problem doesn't seem to be with SA's on BE pets. What Tier-ra posted above seems to apply to all pets, wild and BE'd alike. As far as not being able to train ranged, I haven't seen this myself and seeing conflicting info. If we can pinpoint it to certain cases or skins I can pass it along.
Edit: changed have to haven't

Yes, Talthazar, this seems to be true for all pets, Wild and BE.
Perhaps this is some of the "balance" we hear so much about, hee.
