What is a common failure rate for dna sampling as a newb be? Its either very high, im very unlucky, or im doing something wrong....is there certain critters that you cannot sample from?

its very high and you typically get one sample from each critter. The fail rate for sampling at the master level is stupidly high as well. Its something we've all complained about but it doesn't change. If anything I think I fail more now than I did before the last big patch.

Also, if your inventory is full, you will fail repeately with no other message other than you failed. So if you see a lot of failures in a row, check the inventory.

I had problems sampling from a Gronda Patriach tonight, 20 sample attempts in a row, DNA sampling 3, 37 items in my inventory...

It's always very high even at master. I'm a master and while sampling huurton pups today, I was failing about 40% of the time, and getting aggro 20% of the time. Huurton pups are CL 2, explain that to me.

I remember it beeing a pain in the erhm.. behind to sample DNA for anything when I first became Novice BE.

I might be way out of line , but i think it has to do whit how strong the monster you trying to get the dna from . Harder con harder to get an DNA sample from. Or so it seems to work for me atleast

That's the way it is, only problem is it's still too high. A CL 2 huurton pup should be sampled successfully without aggro pretty much all the time, a failure or aggro should be rare. Not like it is now.

Actually, huurton pups are the only low lvl creatures I have trouble with. I can sample cl 65's and have more success than I do with huurton pups. *dares not mention that cl 75 beast on Dath upon which he fails 70% of the time as a master* Stupid thing doesn't even have the best stats, I HATE it when I need mutant rancor DNA.
The system is jacked, still, it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa(wonders if he has enough a's yet)aaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the first time they tried to "fix" DNA sampling. At sampling 4 you aggroed 85-90% of the time no matter what you sampled, I actually dropped down to sampling 2 till they fixed it, just to make my life easier. This is serious breakage and it took them over a month to fix it.
So, I am content to sample my cl 60's and 65's and not bother with the pups till I need to make one of my insane non-ch pets.
