Thread: a problem i seem to have with the new system
stupid question but do you have CH? if you dont, then you wont be able to tame them regardless of the CL.
im pretty new to this myself so im not sure if thats it or if its because you used naturally aggressive skins for your pets.

i thought invalid pets were fixed?
i made a pet using the recipe most of us know about using voritor dasher and huurton pup dna but i also used a lesser plains bol in place of one of the huurton pups
so i used, in this order:
voritor dasher
lesser plains bol
huurton pup
voritor dasher
huurton pup
i made about five pets and tried to tame them and got the "you do not have the ability to tame this creature" warning msg
these pets were cl 8-10 andhad 9 kinetic and blast resistence, vuln to everything else, dmg about 70-75, some had dizzy strike and range, some had no special attacks at all
HAM costs were about 4k (give or take 300) for the health, 3k (give or take a couple hundred save one which had 3.8k) for the action and mind from 1.5k-2k
all of these pets seem to be invalid or just won't let me tame them....... any help or suggestions would be appreciated
i'm a 0002 ch
also these were crafted in one step, no resampling of the clone......
i used kusak, blurrg and gnort shells.... none of them worked
Kusak you definitely cannot tame until you have 2-0-0-0 CH... same for Bluurg I believe.
Gnort should be fine though; not sure what's going on with that one.

you need 3-0-0-0 to tame them.... you have to have cl 15

i thought invalid pets were fixed? They didn't plug all of the holes, I've spoken to Talthazar about this at length and it sounds like the devs are aware of the problem but in the middle of working with other stuff so asolution isn't due as a hotfix. It will probably be part of the next publish.
While I agree that some of the pets still being created are "outside the bounds of developer intent", their failure to plug all these holes is getting pretty old, IMO. Incremental hotifxes, hotfixes to the hotfix and readjusments that don't work (in terms of stat adjustment to invalid pets) are slowly making the playerbase wary of any BE'd pets (non-CH ones in particular) with the justifiable reason that these are going to be corrected at some future date.
What is happening is that a system that was poorly thought-out, tested and implemented is being beta-tested on the live servers byBEspusing the limits. Here we are almost two months after the original cloning changes and we still have no firm idea what will be eventually allowed due to no documentation or guidance from the Devs. Anything we make is still suspect in our minds and in those of the playerbase. It's almost like the Devs knew there were major problems and bugs in the system, but said "well, let's let the players find them on the live servers and then we can correct them after the fact."
Sure -they plug these holes and adjust these particular pets, but what happens 2-3 months later when another recipe is found that pushes these limits? Yet another fix and correction. Quite frankly, I see no end to this cycle, and that is what is so frustrating. As a BE and player, I just want to know from the Devs when they are finally through with all their fixes and what is/is not a valid pet.
