Can the special protection/ effectiveness be determined by looking at the DNA template or do you have to look it up on SWGcreatures.com?

You either need to look it up in www.swgcreatures.com or jot it down if you have the scout skills when you examine the creature. The DNA shows the level of resist but not the type.

Didnt think so - never had any DNA with special protection heh so I thought i'd ask

Can someone explain in simple terms the difference between special protection of X% versus effectiveness of the same value...?

THere is none...absolutely none. The only difference is special effectiveness tends to be higher and special effectiveness can not be sliced. That's it in a nutshell.
