Thread: Crafting Critical Failures Droids vs. Stations

I have noticed something alarming and wanted to put it out there for comment. I have a 42.92 (ish) private crafting station in my house. It's supposedly near the best you can get and I paid well for it (for those of you on Bloodfin, it's a RicFlair).

However, this weekend, I noticed an alarming number of critical failures on final combine making pets. So, after critical failing 2x in a row on 3rd gen creations (ouch), I went outside my house, pulled out my trusty med droid and proceeded to make 20 pets in a row without failing. Statiscally insignificant I know, but I wonder if anyone else has this issue.

Now a couple things to note. My station in the house is right next to other private stations (clothing, weapon, structure). My droid is med 110. My guess is, if this is a real issue, that either the other stations nearby are messing with the result or else the station is "too good" and causing failures.

Anyone else see this?

I paid big money for my crafting stations and I never use them - I get a much better result with my droid

I'm having much better success with my high end f&c crafting station compared to my droid with f&c station. The difference since I got the crafting station hands down beats my droid.

Our town has a workshop with pretty much the best quality crafting stations possible... we also have the crit fail reduction city buff. Here's what I have noticed:

The station is great for amazing successes.

The station is great for critical failures.

The station is not great for consistent crafting.

If you want an amazing on experimentation... chances are, you'll have better luck with the station. But if you're just trying to make components/etc... use the droid. :/ I've had very few crit fails on my droid since I got him, and that was several months ago.

If I really want to make sure I don't fail I'll use my droid rather than my 43+ station...

Interestingly, for me, it doesn't matter if I use my droid or my top shelf station...I critical fail whenever I use my rarest, or most meticulously generationally bred DNA. I can make crap all day long, once I try to make something REALLY good...*poof!*

This has been reported numerous times. (I was a Master DE for 6 months)... droid crafting stations, while not having a specific rating perform better than arch stations.

I tend to use my droid as well and dont get near as many crits as alot of people seem to be geting. I'v actualy experienced fewer crits as a BE than my other crafting classes (and I'v done all but WS AS and tailor now) Personaly I'm wondering if the game may be treating droid crafting modules as 100 vs the 42 or so that you can get in privite stations.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead
