I noticed when I was going up the BE tree that some of the schimatics would show up in my 'Data pad' but no matter what tool I used I could not create them, (For example Pet Vit Packs B if I remember correctly) then I realised I needed to use a 'Player Made' Crafting station, either a robot with a Food and Chem station built in or an Artisan/Architect made one.
