Thread: BE Nutrient Crafting Guide

I know many people already know this but I am going to write it down anyway.

Step 1: There are a couple offactors in determining the bonus your nutrients are going to get, the most important one in my opinion is resource quality. Nutrient Tissues work like any other tissue in the BE arsenal, 33% Overall quality, 33% Potential Energy, 33% Flavor. When combining your resources use this formula to determine the max percentage of your assembly after experimentation:

(((R1#OQ + R2#OQ) / 2) * 33%) + (((R1#PE + R2#PE) / 2) * 33%) + (((R1#FL + R2#FL) / 2) * 33%) = TP (rounding to the nearest 2 decimal points)

NOTE1: If the OQ, PE, or FL does not exist for a resource used in the formula above change the division by 2 to division by 1 for that stat only.

NOTE2: I have heard some talk about using wood as the Flora and Organic resource in the Nutrient Tissue. This can be good and bad. It comes down to this, I always use the flora over the wood if the flora has PE and FL greater then the PE and FL in the Creature Food, otherwise if a higher OQ Wood is all you have, that will befine.

Step 2: All Nutrient Tissue sizes (Light, Medium, Heavy)are exactly the same when it comes to the assembly percentage, the only difference is the quantity of resources used to assemble and the minimum / maximum bonus that tissue size can have. Use this formula to determine the bonus of your Tissues:

MNS = 60 - ((1 - TP) / 0.034)

BSN = 90 - ((1 - TP) / 0.034)

INN = 120 - ((1 - TP) / 0.034)

Do not round, just remove the decimal point and anything after it.

Your assembly percentage before experimentation always seems to be between 3.5:1 with a great success in the assembly depending on your success rate. But no matter how many experimentation points you have, you can never achieve higher then the bonus givenby the formula in step 1. To be quite honest, at master in a research center I have yet to not max out a BSN or INN without having EXP points left over while getting at least great successes. So make sure you are always using the best resources you can because that is what matters. I personally never use anything less then flora/organic with a BEQ of 870 [(33%OQ)+(33%PE)+(33%FL)] and Creature Food with a BEQ of less then 750.

Good luck in your crafting.

The reaons to use wood is that it is "hard" to get meand and flora with all good FL/PE/OQ... since wood doesn't factor into the OQ/PE calculations you can get flora/meat with lower OQ and have the average brought up by the wood. Bone or Hide would work as well - but wood is easier to get. Also good OQ wood tends to come available more often then good FL/PE/OQ flora so you can reduce your usage of the good flora.

I use the following calculation (from memory - but I am pretty sure it is correct)

TP = average (averageFL + Average PE + average OQ)

MIN + ((TP / 1000)* (MAX - MIN))

Use wood if the PE/FL of your meat is better than that of the flora you are using is a great tip. However as the guy above me pointed out, getting high OQ wood is easy enough and is used to cut with the good hard to find flora. This will often down you a point or two, but allows you to make a lot more with less hard to find resources. This is very helpful when you have 400 crates of enhacers to run.

I gotta give ya props on the formula. Although the wood/hide/bone to replace flora isnt consistant or accurate.

Now, I've been a MBE for as long as our correspondant has been on the forums. AND EVERY time I substitute flora of ANY quality with bone/hide/or wood. It comes out quite a bit less than using the lower quality flora.

ex. Wood with 1000 OQ + Talusian Insect Meat (PE,OQ,FL avg over 980)= BSN of 85...and thats with a +50 station and 10 bivoli tempary with 5 or 6 amazing successes.

Flora (PE,OQ,Fl avg 780) + the same Talusian insect meat = BSN of 87....and thats with my droid, no Bivoli, and no amazing success AT ALL.

so you might wanna look into those stats being 0 or 1 instead of 'null'.

Unless I'm just a bugged BE...which, in this game could b possible as well.

Ok, but what were you using as Floral Food when you used the wood?

I've gotten up to 89 using high OQ wood, high stat flora and meat. The key is the meat needs to be good. If it isn't, then it will break down the average of the PE and FL. My problem is one of supply of flora and meat. Any 10-20k stack of meat I get, I use. The flora I can harvest maybe 600-900k in a shift, and those high stat shifts are rare. I still go through all that flora in a little over a month. If I didn't cut it with wood, I would go through it all in a few weeks. There is something to say about quantity over quality when you have a hungry galaxy to feed.

Max on the crafting stations are +45. I have two myself

The quality of your station/tool with amazing success shouldnt be an issue as I can make 89 BSN with nothing but a great success... Just want to point out that you're wasting your time and money trying to get an amazing success in something that can be maxed out with your normal exp pts

However, I agree with you with the wood.

I tried to use meat with a PE/FL/OQ of 2800+ with flora that had a PE/FL/OQ of 2600.... I tried once with meat and 2x flora and once with meat, the flora, and the 987 wood... I would have expected the game to calulate it as:

Flora slot 1= 2600

Flora slot 2= 2961

(average of 2780.5)

Meat slot= 2800

Total average of: 2787

Think I got 85 out of it.... Put the 2600 flora where the "2961" wood was and got the same result..

Might be a little off on some of the number as it has been a while since I did that.. but the jest of it was that the wood made no difference, in my situation, with the outcome of the BSN

Wood will never improve the outcome unless you have flora with high PE, FL and low OQ. It hurts you if the meat has low PE and FL as those two numbers get average with the flora PE, FL and having more flora with the higher PE FL will make the average go up. Basically wood is a cheap and safe filler to get your flora to last longer.

To get 89 using 1000OQ wood, your meat would have to be OQ1000/PE1000/FL950. Are you sure you got 89?

Yes, because the meat was higher quality than the floraI used. Cost a pretty credit and a few more on top of that per unit of that meat, but yeah. There was an insanely high stat spawn on tatooine, starsider a month or so ago. Think 980+ accross the board.

I got 89 on a BSN schematic last night using the following resources:

Corellian Deciduous Wood Ahazi/Corellia OQ 995
Rori Vegetable Fungus Ahazi/Rori FL 961, PE 994, OQ 959
Yavinian Carnivore Meat Ahazi/Yavin FL 925, PE 990, OQ 933

Not sure how that matches your formula but I know what the results were, lol.

That would be a perfect example of when to use wood. The PE/FLs of the meat and flora match pretty well up but the OQs are lower than the wood, so the wood actually brought the average up over all. Very nice example.

"I've gotten up to 89 using high OQ wood, high stat flora and meat.

To get 89 using 1000OQ wood, your meat would have to be OQ1000/PE1000/FL950. Are you sure you got 89?"

and

"I got 89 on a BSN schematic last night using the following resources:

Corellian Deciduous Wood Ahazi/Corellia OQ 995
Rori Vegetable Fungus Ahazi/Rori FL 961, PE 994, OQ 959
Yavinian Carnivore Meat Ahazi/Yavin FL 925, PE 990, OQ 933

Plug that into myh formula:

0 0995

961 994 959

925 990 933

----------------

AVG 943 992 962

AVG2 =AVGof the AVG = 965.7778

60 + ((AVG2 / 1000) * (90 - 60))

(60 is the min, 90 is the max)

Result is 88.97333.

Add to that that amazing successes can push it over the top and you get an 89 out of it.

If the flora had been used instead of the wood you wind up with

AVG2 = 964

60 + ((AVG2 / 1000) * (90 - 60))

Result is 88.92 which should also be able to be pushed up to an 89 I would suspect.

If there were no amazing success to push them over then you are still better off using wood, since, as stateb before, it is easier to get good OQ wood than it is to get good FL/PE/OQ flora.

The thing that stands out to me out of this thread is that people think that it is (FL+PE+OQ) / 3 that determines the "value" of the ingredients - that is not the case. An 800/900/900 and a 900/900/800 are NOT the same when it comes to making BE tissues.
