Hi, I need some info from you about the increased mob deathblows and how this is affecting us. (I have a second account doc, soon to be no more so I never go out without full buffs and 78% kinetic armour)
Previously if you didnt attack a creature and always made sure you were in 'peace' mode then the creature wouldnt death blow (in most cases), they recently increased the chance that a creature would deathblow if you got incapped and I need some info on *if* this is affecting our DNA sampling and if so, how bad is it?

Before the DB change, I could collect an average of 5-6 mutant rancor samples per hour on a good day. Normally, I would get knocked down incapped, with about a 25% chance or so that it would DB me.

Now I average about 1 sample per hour. If I go down, I die. 100% chance of DB. End of story. I'm not looking forward to having to purchase armor/buffs just to hope I can stay alive long enough to outrun the mutant rancors.

Well I noticed that when I do manage to get close to a mutant rancor (which is quite rare, I may add), the chances that I get a sample has decreased. The chance of it going aggro has increased, and it's DB rate is 100%. I invested in really nice advanced chitin armor at 42% kinetic and I last longer, but they still DB no matter what. I believe the chance to DB increases with the CL. So after CL75, the DB is closer to 90%. This is just an opinion and is based on speculation with plain experience and no hard data/research.

Well....

Let me speak from 2 areas...

First as a Master BE... DB doesn't affect me much... honestly if you have brains about you, you would buff before going out and have some (chestplate and helmet) armor at the ready.... also have some stims on hand... your chances of dying are nil that way

Second as a TKM... the detahblow change has sucked since day 1. If a creature or NPC DB'S, and you get incapped you are screwed.... Force of Will is useless in PvE now... the DB is so fast it isn't even funny... I have Force Of Will hot keyed on my number pad so I only have to press a button... and I never can press it fast enough in PvE stuff...

Enough rants, that isn't really a BE concern, and I have little to no problems with it as a BE

Kinda funny, but I have noticed the oposite, Mt. Squills used to DB, and now they don't. As far as everything else, anything worth DNAing usually DB is instand unless I get Ranged and my pets pick them up. Lately I have been pretty good about getting my Mt. Squill and my homade STUN and I can take down anything we can sample with out a single combat skill to my name. BLIND, INTIMIDATE, & STUN tear them up... However yesterday a Webmaster got me in close DB, and I couldn't find him again and he killed both of my boys without me being there to tell them what to do.

And a MR did not DB this weekend I could not BELEIVE IT! I almost always get buffed on doth, can't on endor, usually only one there, should get in Corellia, but never think of it.

Since the modification to the AI, the impact on sampling has been significant. Even with buffs, no weapon equipped, spamming Peace, I get DB'd every single time they incap me.

Now I don't even bother with buffs, if I cannot outrun them, I'm dead anyway. I leave my good armor and weapons at home and just use minimal mask gear. It's not worth the insane decay ratio's. Frankly, making a CL70 isn't even worth the insane effort to try to get the samples.

Unfortunately I have tried to sample rancors but haven't even gotten close enough to attempt it because they were always breaking my maskscent. I remeber reading some where that if you use your full maskscent with jawa beer for maskscent and some maskscent clothing getting around +120 or so for maskscent you can maybe succesfully attempt it. However I have also heard that just incase the critters manage to turn on you to have no weapons equipped what so ever so that when you are n capped it won't deathblow you but I don't know if that was before or after the AI update but I will try to attempt it and see if it works. Also found a reciepe for a lvl +70 critter just need some special DNA for it.

With just the scout prerequisits and a +25 coat, I am able to get samples consistantly from MR's by crawling from behind, I have noticed that approaching groups greater than 3 are not worth it, the pings are to great, and you will get picked up 47 of 50 times ( I made it through 3 times and got no samples, believe these groups are bugged too)

Also a sign you are close to MR's if you see a group of Youth Rancors circle them stay about 400-600 meters away from them, and you should see MR's.

Never have used Jawa Beer.

Since the change, I've managed to collect two samples. I have an order for a LVL70. I've been to dath twice and I've managed to find ZERO mutant rancor. I don't know what's up.

hrm i have found in rare instances a rancor doesnt deathblow me on sampling, but havent really found any way to repeat it, if i get agro before sampling, i get deathblowed, its just sometimes on an agro from a sample i get incapped and not deathblowed instantly. but sometimes they walk over and deathblow also, and sometimes not (usually do tho if they dont kill instantly on the incap) its been rare but one time i had it happen twice in a row and i died third time from the 3 death thing.

I've tried MR since the patch - not before. Haven't gotten a single sample, as I can't even get close without them getting through my mask scent. I've gone twice, both times for an hour and a half, every time mask scent broke I stopped, waited, remasked, moved forward. Got to within 15 meters, aggroed, died. I've got an order for a CL70, but I'm starting to wonder if the decay and wounds are worth it...

Little tip, im not a BE yet but i helped a friend getting the MR samples, if you can, get a rifleman friend to go prone at 60 -64m of hte closest one and /consealshot untill there is only 1 MR left from the lair, there alot easier to sneak up on hten
