Hi I'm a brand new MBE on Bloodfin, as of last night. Today I went DNA hunting and got 13 mixed rancor (not mutant) and created a razer cat. My biggest questions are... Am I doing this right? and... How much is too much or not enouph to charge for such things?

For the cat I used the two bull I got and 3 regular rancor VHQ samples. I used all of my xp points and ended up with...

Level: 62

Health: 12507

Action: 12202

Mind: 11645

Armor: Light

Kinetic: 33 (the biggest OUCH)

Energy: 50

Blast: Ven

Heat/Cold/Electric: 73

Acid/Stun: Ven

Attack Speed: 2.16

Damage: 520-530

Special 1: Stunning Strike

Special 2: Dizzy Strike

Ranged: None

Ok now, I think this is a decent pet except for A) the high level and B) the Kinetic resist of 33. Does this ruin the pet? I don't mean to sound stupid but I read so much about the perfect 35 twins, and the perfect 60 kinetic that I'm seriously concerned with the outcomes of my pets never being perfect. I am considering 100k as a price for this animal, is that fair for buyer and seller? Any input on that is welcome.

Secondly, for +14 or +15 tissues is 200 credits per point too much? too little? I am at a loss for pricing. I have one customer I regularly make tissues for, but he just pays me what he feels is fair, and it ushually ends up approx 200 creds a point (give or take a bit but I know regular customers are not the same as putting prices on vender stuff) Like right now I have two (25) crates of +15 for bleed defense. With my idea of 200 creds per point this would be 75k per crate. Now this seems like a lot to me, really, but I am not used to the economics yet and I know that stat-cloths are sold for huge amounts.

I don't want to undersell everyone on my server, I dont want to be so cheap that I never have a moment to enjoy the game because everyone wants me to help them make more money. I want my items to sell, yes, and I want to make credits too. Those DNA runs tend to cost a lot between buffs/bike/cloning/insuring/buffs again/insuring again lol. I'm at my wits end and despratly in need of someone on my server I can bug with my million and one questions!! Or just answers to these will be a huge huge help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

I'm retired from the pet business, so I don't know what the going rate isany morefor Bloodfin pets. On the plus side, the HAM is nice, thedamage is decent too, and you have two specials that stuck with no ranged, which is also aplus.

However, I would be surprised if this fetched 100k for a couple of reasons.

1. The sub 50% kinetic is a killer. I'm sure you know all about effective HAM - a pet with 60% kinetic has an effective HAM much higher than this pet.

2. Creature handlers are an endangered species.

I'd say 50k is closer to the mark for Bloodfin.

My advice for what it's worth, would be to make a 1st gen clone just to put in aggression (2nd Gen), and make another 1st gen clone just to put in physique and prowess (2nd Gen). For the aggression clone, focus on good resists but experimentdamage tothe maxiumum and spend the rest in physique. For the physique and prowess pet, spend the points there and the rest in agression. Now, once you've sampled these two, use them in Physique, Prowess and Aggression and use original wild 1st gen DNA in slots 3 and 4.

The advantage to doing this is that you can blend the resists with different creatures when you make the first set of clones and your finished product (2nd Gen) will end up having a lot better overall resist profile. True, you will lose the 80% to Heat/Cold/El, but in my opinion it's worth it.

Most wild creatures or NPCs do energy or kinetic which is why these two resist types are so important.

Thank you for your reply. If I'm understanding right you mean I should make two pets to sample to create a third (plus three fresh DNA)? I need to do some research on kinetic resist wild's and figure out where I can get 60 at. Since thats the make-or-break of pets I'll have to find it. I'll sample down the one I made, and work it into a new pet.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I found some young malkloc plainswalkers and sampled them. I took this and put it in 1235 spots and took the one (ugh yes only one) sample from my first cat in the 4 spot. Then I got...

57, 13297/11986/12040, Light armor, 60 kin, 84 stun, everything else vun, 2.23 speed with 430-440 damage, special 1 crippling strike, no special 2, no ranged.

I'm not happy with the lowered damage and the one special. But the health is better and the kinetic, and stun went from ven to 84.

Also, since you're new:

I have 2 backpacks worth of great DNA that you can have for free now that I've retired. No Mutant Rancor DNA but I have lots of Merek DH, Arachne Widow, Arachne Queen, Bark Mite Burrower Queen, Bark Mite Burrower, Ancient Grauls....lots of good stuff. Just need it out of my house.

Message me on -Cookiepuss- and then come by my shop at -4880 3313 near Theed on Naboo if you're interested. It will save you hours and hours of dna collection.

Regards-
