Great to hear from you... as a tip, as a person with no combat skills to his name, I can take anything up to a lvl 75 out with my two pets, the secret is specials and how to use them.

I have been a Ranger/Rifleman for about a year now. On my way up I tried CH and BH and noviced a few weapon elites. I never fell for the hologrind, they would have to drag me away kickin' and I still would not give up my Master Ranger.
I feel Rangers/BE/CH do it for one reason the love of the animals. I recently gave up Rifleman to be a CH, not sure I could do BE also, I'm not real brite, your forums are beyond my knowledge.
Anyway my point was really to say thanks to you guys, for the help getting back into Creature Handling. I would think that most BE's are CH's too.
A Bio-Engineer in my galaxy recently gave me a cool pet to use on my way up the CH tree. I was trying to give him some Dathomir cammo kits for free, but he insisted on giving me the pet. He is a lvl 14 with great ham and decent resists, look like a mini t-rex. I love him.

Hi Nyter,
I had a computer problem, but I will add you to my friends list.
I am not sure which way to move up the ranks in CH, but as slow as it is going I will figure it out.
Been looking for Great Plains Stalker babies lately. I'll let ya know if I find any.

Actually, there isn't much of a secret to it. Light armor 60% kinetic resist pets own against other creatures. A little healing, if necessary, is all that it takes. Leveling combat professions from scratch is really easy if you have these pets. Specials do indeed help - like strong poison, the delay specials, and crippling strike.

Will you tell us your secret with specials and their use?
Sure, just don't like to waste peoples time who aren't interested.
I have had much success with blind, Intimidate, and Stun... I have been using a Mt. Squill, and a Woolamander I Made with 11k ham Light armor 440DMG and Stun as both specials. With the way these specials effect the creatures, my pets take little damadge if fighting one high level mob, even with the squill having no armor at all.
Also a friend of mine is using a Nargalatch I made him that has LT armor, 60 Kin, 520 DMG and Strong Poison, it beat the Shiznit out of a singing Mt. Rancor last night. Neither of us could believe it. It only took 1/5 HAM DMG. It was cool!

Do you have to tell the pet to use the specials via macro or is the baseline use of them adequate? It won't be difficult either way. I just want to know what to expect. Thanks

Certain specials are on demand, and I use macros for those, things like poison and disease are up to the creature's discreation. I most definately use macros, when I had combat skills, I attached these to certain specials that I used and stacked in my combat Que. The specials also stack, so you can hit special 1 twice then hit special 2 3 times, then hit special 1 again, and they would be executed in that order. I usually do each twice, becuase they don't all stick first try. especially higher lvl mobs. Also if you have pistoleer a pet with dizy is nice when you knock down NCP's with melee defense 1. (they just keep falling, don't forget to kick em while they are down for big dmg bonuses.)
