Ok i am new to the Bio-Eng. class, so i am sampling DNA, and crafting critters and telling myself the first hour, "wow this is gonna be fun, and i get to make my own pets yippie" - 3 hours later..."hmm i have made samle dna 2 already i gotta be close to cloning .....what???? not even half way there?" so i step it up a notch the next day i am now grinding with 3 crafting tools and using my med droid for experiment(cause my clones suck, which i expect)....hmm been doing this again for a while." to my supprise i am only half way up my cloning skill to get to clone 1. so please tell me am i doing something wrong or is it a bug? is there a way i can hit cloning 1 any time soon? please tell me i also get more points for the other clones i make later. i am also at sample 3... my sample quality is up, but i have to try alot harder now to just get a sample...and i would say half the time i am discovered part way through....you ever try to out run a famba before it eats you....not cool.
thanks for your help

buy butt-loads of meat and butt-loads of flora food and grind micronutrient suppliment in practice mode until your fingers fall off, and then use yours toes. That got me to MBE pretty quick.

and use a macro. there are a couple on this site. I am getting 40-50k exp per hour. The things slowing me down: Lack of meat, lack of any other BE's to train me.

Yes, micronutrient supplements count towards general BE crafting experience, which is the sort used to fill up the cloning, tissues, and experiment lines.
I use various food buffs that buff mind/focus/willpower to get over the spice downers from Muon Gold. If I'm just needing a few samples I usually use the food rather than the spice.

you can't really level crafting XP making creatures at the moment... the last time I did the math you would earn over 1 million sample XP collecting all the DNA you need to make master (which would take a long long long time). So, for the time being at least, you either need to make petstims to sell, or grind away on micornutrient supplements.

Okay, well I was one of the first riflemen on my server (Lowca). So, it's been a while. Quite frankly, I love the damage I can do, but I don't like the fact that I run out of mind so quick, even with maxed out pools, buffs, brandy, and muon. Plus, I hate that I can't fight for crap up close, so when it comes to things like the DWB, I feel at a disadvantage. I am also a doctor and I don't want to give that up. So, basically...I was thinking of going master swordsman to go along with doctor. I just want to know if any of the swordsmen/riflemen people can tell me about both professions and maybe help me make my final decision of dropping rifle and picking up swordsman. How is it in pve, pvp? Thanks

swordsman is a monster
u can solo krayts with em same as rifleman. in pve they plain and simple own all. in pvp there abit slow to hit and the lack of some defence mods doesn't help. swords/rifle mastered together with medic as the rest is very nice but u can't buff yourself.
depends how u want to play. if u tend to pvp more stick with rifleman if u pve more and want a change go for swords but rifle is jsut as good in pve the mind hits in rifle chew through mobs quicker but the aoe's in swords kills more quicker than straife 2 in my experience.

ya i have to agree with bounty, i have both rifle/sword and find myself almost always using my sword in pve, always is solo, and most the time if my group needs a good tank its me. Swordsmen is great with doc, IMO best tank out there. swordsmen is great cause u can target mind, or have a very powerful area attack. Drawbacks to sword r defense, especial rng/melee and def vs. course a doc can pretty much heal the def vs stuff and heal most dmg they take so its a great combo. but if you got friends who can tank for ya, well plain and simple you can't beat AP3 lol, unless ur in a cramped spot and ur area attack will just make a bunch of stuff agro on you hehe. yet pvp is another story lol, rifle pretty much owns pvp, especially with doc and poison heals, swordsmen you will be able to hold your own. in pvp with melee i often find myself in a stalemate due to the lack of power or speed, depending on your weapon choice.

How are you running out of mind? With food/drink(don't even need muon)you should not be losing any mind from specials, and outside of that, the damage you take to mind is no different than any other profession.
Not sure what's so bad about our capabilities up close either. Even point blank, accuracy isn't a problem. Tanking ability is not a problemif you have good armor. You can't usesrafe2 on a bunch of mobs at point blank though, which is pretty annoying.
The only thing that would make me want to switch to swordsman is if I wanted to hunt more nightsisters. Spellweavers, protectors, etc, are the only thing worth killing that a rifle won't work well against. Still great against elders though (better than swordsman, actually).
