I'm wondering....
What would be the going rate for DNA? I'm trying to think of another way to make credits, as its just so darn hard to compete with the amount of crafters in the "player economy". So instead of me making animals or tissues, would you other scientists buy DNA, and what would you pay?

I used to sell DNA occasionally - 7500 per MH and 25000 per MR. Those are the only ones that anyone has ever wanted to purchase from me.

I've often given serious thought to trading DNA. There have been times when I've wanted a load of samples, or samples of some hard to get (mutant rancor) or hard to find (greater sludge panther before they became glowstick target number one) creatures and wished I could just lay some cash down instead of trekking off to get them.
I would definitely pay for samples. And I would sell them too. What I can't say is what a fair price would be. There have been times I've got ten MR samples in half an hour, and this is the easiest game in the world. Other times it's taken three hours to get four samples and I've felt the urge to spam planet chat with "Paying 100k for mutant rancor DNA." Realistically you have to look at how much you could expect to sell a pet for using that DNA. 25k I would certainly see as worth paying for MR and at the lower end of the scale I'd even pay for HPs rather than go all the way to Dantooine to grab some.
Drop me an in-game mail and maybe we can work something out.

The only DNA that might sell would be MR - and then only to lazy BEs imo

I had a deal going at one time with another BE which worked out great.
He was an 'explorer BE' and I'm a 'crafter BE'. I have a nice shop in a good location and planetary advertising, but I'm lacking in the exploration department. He had an artisan vendor somewhere near the rear end of coronet, I sold his stuff on my vendor at (with no mark up) and he brought me DNA. Worked out great

You know what's funny is that I think these are not unreasonable prices. But in today's economy, try selling a pet for a fair profit if you've paid 50k just for two of the dna slots...

And that is why I say I used to sell DNA.
There is not enough demand for pets to make DNA sales viable any more. Maybe if SOE unnerfs creature handlers a bit and they become a viable class again. Ill wait until after the mythical Combat Revamp (tm) to see how useful pets will be.

7.5k per MH sample seems about right. Think about it: you could sell a pet that was MH-MH-MH-MH-MH for about 50k and would require no skill to make so (5 * 7.5 =) 37.5k seems a reasonable price. Hell, you should charge more

I didn't think there would be much of a market for DNA, but I thought I'd ask.
