I haven't tested this extensively, and I don't know if it can be reproduced, but this is something that happened to me that I think people might find interesting. I was trying to create a trio pet, and had done several generations. I always used the same DNA for psycology and aggression - (one that I had created with the two special attacks I wanted).
After several generations of the same creature - I suddenly lost both special attacks. I tried several more generations - and never got another special attack to stick; kinda funny. I thought "hmm, inbreeding takes its toll)

That's happened to me before but really I wasn't fussed, all I was doing was creating an uber cl10 pet, sampling it twice, selling the original clone and then made a new one using the new dna. Rinsed and repeat. I suppose for CH pets that can be very frustrating but I suppose in those situations you need add new dna. You could just do nuna-nuna-nuna-your speciak-nuna and then nuna-nuna-nuna-nuna-your special, combine them and then add that it later.
