Okay here is my dilema. I want to get a special order pet made. A level 40-45 giant carrion spat. I just always thought they looked cool, and unfortunately over my time of getting ch skill. I had to let go of my old mount to make space for a cooler pet. Needless to say I want to get one of these cool pets.
Here is my problem when I find a BE shop 7 out of 9 times. The player dosent even sell ch pets. Then when I do find a shop selling pets its usually the same kind of pet level 25 and the like. I have found a shop that actually sold higher level pets, but unfortunately no GIant carrion spat. Infact no giant carrion spat on any vendor I have checked out.
Needless to say I sent alot of tells. About getting a giant carrion spat made to specks. keep in mind I am a ch level 45 and the kinetic resist dosent really matter to me. Since I can just go tameing a prowling gurrek. 65 kinetic and the rest is 30 percent. So each time I find a BE I ask them about makeing me this pet. Saying level 40 to 45 giant carrion spat only looking for reasonable resists, and specials do not really matter to me.
In the end all I got for asking the questions was a shopping list. Stuff like you need to bring me the dna. Which blew my mind if I had BE why would I be gathering dna for others when I can just work towards makeing the pet myself. I would expain that I was MBH/CH level 45 and couldnt actually get dna for them. Maybe I could help them by aquireing creature harvests, or forageing for eggs or milk. The most I got out of one of these guys is yeah we need meat. I spent hours trying to be helpful and offer to help the BEs make my frankenstein only to end the conversation the same way. They would talk to me for like fifteen minutes and then it was like they melted away.
My question is how do I bribe a BE to make me such a custom order pet. As a group is there something you lust over. Some resource a non BE such as myself can get. Is there some item that BEs long to get that I might be able to get and trade.
On sunrunner if anyone can stear me in the direction of a BE that actually is willing and able to do custom orders.

Unfortunately, we cannot. Giant Carrion Spat is not available for BE creatures. We can only make regular Carrion Spats. You can, however tame wild Giant Carrion Spat.
Also, we have a vendor list stickied at the top. You can start your BE vendor search there first then move on to trade forums.

Wow, 2 out of 9 that sell CH pets. That is pretty darn good relative to my experience. In my experience it's more like 2 out of 20But anyhow, "giant carrion spat" is not something we can make. We can make "carrion spats" and we can color them red like a GCS, but it won't grow to the same size. The fact that it doesn't grow bigger is actually a bug in our crafting system, that is slated to be fixed in late 2010.

Hmm, I don't follow the logic there. Yes, a prowling gurreck makes a pretty terrific pet. It has 65% kinetic resist but it has no armor. A bio pet can have 60% kinetic resist and light armor, which is the equivalent of an 80% unarmored resist. Also a bio pet can have far far higher HAM then a prowling gurreck at the same CL.

Ah well, you are certainly not talking to a pet-making BE then. Probably some "chef alt BE" of which there are unfortunately an awful lot of. From the sounds of it you wouldn't want those guys making a pet anyway. They probably have sauce all over there fingers and would end up making you something plump and fat.
My question is how do I bribe a BE to make me such a custom order pet. As a group is there something you lust over. Some resource a non BE such as myself can get. Is there some item that BEs long to get that I might be able to get and trade.
If you really wanted to score huge points with a BE, I'd suggest trying to get some dathomir insect meat, egg, and/or fish (don't bother though unless you can secure some with good OQ, PE, and flavor). Aside from that, a big stack of any kind of meat that is very high in those three stats will impress. But if you are having to try too hard to impress, then I question whether the guy you are talking to is capable of making you a good pet anyhow. But then again I wasn't there to hear how this conversation of yours went. I've certainly turned my shared of rude or impatient, or overly demandingcustomers away unceremoniously, but I wouldn't want to draw any conclusions without hearing both sides of it.
Be pleasant, be patient (good pets take a lot of time to make), be appreciative, be specific about what you want, and if that's not enough, go to somebody else who will appreciate your business.

Try this. This is a stickied link at the top of our forum.

Yeah I did check the sticky I forgot to mention that. I did compare it to my list aswell. Most of them just sell nutrients, and the one reputable one has been on vacation for over a month. Alas. Thanks for the info on the giant carrion spat guys. I really just wanted it for the cool look. Its not like its actually faster then a speeder, and I got some pretty strong small end mount creatures. I hope they fix this for you.
Asfor the 60 percent kinetic light armors the problem is that to get that 60 percent light armor atleast the BEs on my server end up sacraficeing next to everything else. Kind of looking forward towards the CU, and even a melee stacker has powerhammers, and pikes to fall back on.
The prowling gurrek. Atleast lets me get the nice kinetic resist, and dosent get gimped on the other stats. Kind of a judgement call. Since I am a MBH I can usually trounce anything thats fighting my pet. So again the hams count for very little. Plus the BEs on my server have one last problem they have like no creature variety on their shelves, and that saddens me there is just something unfulfilling about beating down a graul mauler with a kaddu. Is the BE profession really limited in the skins it can use. Do you guys only get like ten to work with?

Tradeoffs are made, yes, but I can't help but think that the "prowling gurreck configuration" is certainly not optimal, no matter how you are using the pet. Honestly, how many times were you thankful for the 30% cold resist? But I won't belabor the point.

It's like anything else. CH's determine what there is demand for, and we stock according to demand. There are what, maybe 3 dozen different skins we can make? Some thing like that. But since speeders came out I haven't had a single request for a carrior spat in the last 12 months, so you wouldn't find a whole bunch of carrion spats on my vendor.

LOL beating Graul mauler with kaadu unfulfilling? Yeah I kinda agree
If a BE is decent at making pets, s/he should be able to make a lot better pet than prowling gurreck at Level 45. Good BEs can stick light armor as low level pet as 23. Really good ones can do it at below level 20 with 60% kinetic.
Try this link. It lists all the creatures we can make.

Never underestimate other players. I have been useing my entire arsenal on ch pets of opportunity. In other words when I see someone insane enough to be overt and have a pet out. I have taken down player pets with a SG82 to the owners intense consternation. Remember it did not take people long to start playing the stun damage card. So in a sense I am trying to see the match from my opponents shoes, and have been quite successful against my foes because I have done that.
The reward of haveing a balanced pet is that its slightly more reliable. I just cannot see the point of giveing my pet five or six achillees heals to fall victim to. I grant you that alot of players are probabally not that smart. There are some people in the game that would fist a 60 percent light armored creature instead of pulling out a power hammer or a stun batton. I really dislike the thought of relying on another player to be as dumb as a box of rocks to win a fight.
I suppose I take my weapons a little more seriously then others. There is a reason I have a riverside sulpher mynok and it aint for a kinetic resist.
Hey thanks for the list I am going to look into getting a lvl 45 torton. That would be cool, and I can switch out my ravenous torton for that.
