Thread: What are samples worth?

Taking expenses (buff, food) and time into account needed to get Mutant Rancor samples I'd pay up to 12k for these. But only if I lack the time taking a trip to Dathomir, as it's funto me and I always combine it with taking other samples needed frequently. I guess this would be a main issue with a vendor for samples: It's unlikely to get all the needed samples there - so I might just go and get them all by myself.

From my POV, this would be brilliant, as I have limited time online, and lots to do. (If you are on Chimaera - give me a shout)
As for a viable idea in general...well I'd give it a go, and see. If the worst comes to the worst, and there isn't any interest, you still have a nice stock of DNA samples to make pets with

BE is not about making credits, it is about making pets for CH, and tissues for tailors

. Not chefs because they are greedy suckasses. I would buy samples from vendors cause I just don't have enough time to go sample all the stuff that I need. but then again. the variety wouldn't be there for the differen't kinds of DNA needed.
I am guessing that you would have to invest is a large number of travel packs. get 20+ samples of MR and put it in the pack on the vendor, Then go get the Merrek Harvester 20+ and put it in a pack on the vendor, then go samples from the all other major Most wanted DNA and put them in packs. I don't know if a full pack of 50 would be a good idead though... noone could buy more than 1 pack.
I think that creatures for Specials should be harvested by the BE per custom order. OR you could have a second vendor with pets for poison, disease, knockdown....etc. just to get the specials out there too.
price would definity be dependant on the difficulty level of the creature harvested. maybe (CLx 100)x 2 would be a good start...
MR would be (75 x100) x2 = 15,000 credits
HP would be (2 x 100) x 2 = 400 credits

If I wanted to sell samples, what would Mutant Rancor samples be worth? I'm not into the crafting part of MBE yet, but I enjoy the challange of sampling. I was thinking of selling samples to other MBE's, but I don't have any idea of what samples are worth.
What would samples be worth to a MBE?
Would a sample vendor be a viable option or do most MBE's prefer to get their own samples. I'm new to this profession and I am just looking at different options on making some credits.

I'm not planning selling samples from all types of creatures. I'm think of only selling samples of the 10 highest cl lvl pets. The lower lvl pets that are easy to sample wouldn't be worth selling. Most BE's can get these easy enough on there own.You couldn't sell samples in packs.Most BE's would want to see the stats on each sample to avoid buying one they didn't want. Besides putting them in packs wouldn't help out with the vendor limit. A pack of 50 items counts as 50 items on a vendor ,not 1.

I love the idea...
Alas MRs hate me so much I can't get in more then 30m from them before they decide to incap and db.
I am also a m CH, mask scnet clothes and jawa beer.. and I still have yet to get my first sample....
I would easily pay 10k each just to try to make a evil pet which I have 3 pending orders for by some M CHs
based on when I can needle some MR. Since all of them want a CL 60 -70 pet.

I started selling MR on my vendor one day for 4k each (I had alot of extra). The high and VHQ samples sold within a few days, but the AA samples just sat there and eventually recycled. Not exactly sure why. I have recipes that specifically call for AA MR to get the specials right. *shrug*
I priced them low mostly to get rid of them, but also to help out other BE's. Who else is gonna buy dna?

I think that the Mutant Rancor tissue idea is great. Dathomir is the toughest planet and an Exploration 4 + Bio clothing BE can't get by with just /maskscent. And add in the Nightsister factor and Dathomir is even worse. I haven't had any problems sampling Merek Harvestors, infact I've stumbled into a few while driving out to my harvestor. So yeah.. Mutant Rancors and whatever else is on Dathomir that is high level and has good DNA..
