Thread: Pet Temperment?
Pets should have different temperments, dependant on a number of factors. The temperment factor could have an effect on the amount of damage that is dealt and amount received (similar to a brawler using beserk). When a pet has a bad temperment, this unbalances - the pet receives slightly more damage but also deals out slightly more damage. When it has a good temperant it is balanced at its default setting.
Temperment would also effect its ability to work with other pets and its owner. A pet with a bad temperment will respond to commands less often, may stop following the owner etc and also react badly with other pets (how exactly, I'm not entirely sure). Obviously, a pet with a good temperment will act as it should do and not be disobedient.
Temperment could be affected by a number of things. Pet usage (over usage or under usage could negatively effect it), pet usage (in ratio to other pets),skins (pets from a lush planet [say Naboo] would react badly on a dryer planet [Tatooine]), pet level, creature handler level, amount of time spent with the CH, dependability value, whether or not the skin is aggressive etc could all have an effect on the temperment of the pet.
Problems: Could be hard and lengthy to code. A lot of new data would have to be processed, thus may cause lag issues.
like protocol droids constantly saying things like "you the odds of survival are..." whenever you take on a red-con mob or try and send him on his way to go say "hi"
pets should play and move around on their own, interact with other pets (however likable or dislikable your pets end up being) and the temperment should be something that a creature handler controls
for example, a ch who regular feeds his pet (not for healing wounds- just because) will have a healthy pet who is well-mannered and obediant
a ch who neglects his pet often will have a hard time getting it to stay, follow, or let him or her mount it, but will have no problem attacking anything (even if the ch doesn't want it to
