Thread: Questions regarding clones.

I've only been a bio-engineer for a couple of weeks and have made good progress but this whole next generation deal has me pulling my hair out. There must be something I'm doing wrong here, let me explain.

After a recent trip to dantooine I returned with a bagfull of graul marauder DNA to use in testing generational pets (seems very easy to get). I made my first pet using 5 VHQ samples then took samples from it in my inventory and got 2, both VHQ.

I then made another pet and managed to get 3 samples of DNA, 2xHQ and 1xVHQ.

So I now have 3 samples of VHQ and 2 of HQ that I use to make another pet, then once I had finished I compared the stats to both of the previous pets and discovered there was virtually no difference in them, stat wise. Some stats were higher and some lower than the previous but mostly the same, so here is the questions.

When you create your generations of pets do you only use VHQ samples andon average, how many pets do you go through untill your happy with the final pet?

Please feel free to slap me about the room if I'm missing something glaringly obvious here but like I said, only been BE for a couple of weeks. Thanks in advance for any replies

Well, the generational stuff can sometimes be unneeded by instead just getting high statDNA in certain slots and very low stat DNA in others. If you need this tho I'd make a 1st gen that has very high in 1 or 2slots, crap in the others, and experiment all the way on that 1 or 2slots. You can then use 2-3 samples from this in your 2nd gen for the non-important slots. There's typically ways to get a 1st combine that's comparable though.

As to the quality of the DNA...I still only view it as important for sticking specials or ranged, both of which aren't working now. If the DNA has the number stats you are looking for, it doesn't matter so much I mean.

Let me get this right, so you get high stats in 1 and 2 on your first clone and high in stats 3,4 and 5 in the second and combine them?

This would make sense if it works out that way.

Well, I was just saying numbers as generic, not to correspond with the actual slots 1-5.

So for example if you wanted highest damage, make a clone with: crap, crap, crap, crap, high power. Experiment all the way in aggresion and only aggression.

This will produce something that hasdecent power, little health, almost 0 on the other stats.

Then do something like: clone, crap, crap, clone, high power. Experiment again on aggression.

You now have a pet that will have higher power than the first, but the other stats will remain fairly low.

As a 2nd combine you could also do clone, clone, clone, clone, high power or clone, clone, clone, high power, high power or various combinations with crap or clone DNA to make a 2nd gen that accentuates just the 1 slot.

Now how much different the 2nd gen will be from average, crap, crap, average, high power combo is debateable. And would you really want to eliminate all other stats by so much.

Well, sometimes dramatic differences aren't wanted so it comes down to using all good and just experimenting on the slots you want to focus on. As others have sometimes noted tho, there is often a way to do this without making use of 2nd or 3rd gen. My most common uses of 2nd or 3rd gen now is to hit a certain level. Knowing how to get about the exact stats for CL70 or a level you are familiar with is relatively easy, but when you get a request for an uncommon level, I'll give a best guess first combine then resample to get something that hits. I onceended up doing a 4th gen to get the level just right, but if it were a level I'd want to know how to hit more often, I'd work on the right 1st gen mix.

If you posted stats, some could probably tell you if it's doable on a first gen combo or not.

With how pet crafting is now, I prefer the K.I.S.S method.

Yeah I understand what your meaning Drachus, I was just using slot 1 and 2 for an example. I've seen others generational pets in game and they seem to have very high results for most stats so I'm like how do they do that, whatever I try turns out to be crap lol.

Unfortunetly crafting pets is far from K.I.S.S. At least for me lol.
