Thread: Anyone a BE,MCH and ranger ??
i'm thinking of dropping my weapon skills and having a go at BE, i know my ranger skills really help with taming, and its very rare i get aggro from the high level mobs.
Any opinions ??
I'm a novice Rifle, novice Ranger, novice CH and Master BE. My paltry left over pts went into Medic 1/1/1/4. I had and then dropped Artisan 3/2/0/3, Brawler 0/4/0/0. While getting DNA Sampling 1-4, you might want to train in a melee mode, or pistol. You'll get aggro during sampling. You can take the incap, or try and melee. Or run.
As a Master BE, you really don't NEED any combat skills. As long as you can buy the resources for uber stims and pets. You do need to be a sneaky **edit**. I might be dumping my Rifle for more Ranger skills in the future.
thanks for the info, but with a pet on guard to take the aggro, i dont think i'd need the weapons, i'd just run lol
I'm currently at wayfaring 2, i have enough xp for wayfaring 3 and tracking 3 at the mo. With the camo bonus and mask scent bonus i get so far, i can pretty much stand in the middle of red mobs indefinatley.
I have noticed that as long as the mobs have given you scouting xp you don't ever get aggro'd off them, unless you move out of range then fail the mask scent .
killing anything higher then a durni for meat is kinda expensive
also artisan for surveying is a problem
it works, and im having fun with it, but compared to other combinations its very weak when you have to rely fully on your pets, at least until the basic CH bugs are fixed - especialy warping
the new changes with agro might make it worse - its not like pets get instand agro always, so most of the time you watch your pets kill some thug from the floor waiting to get up again

I have no interest in playing a character SOE tell me too, when i get bored with my MCH, i'll dump the game

Haha wtg =) You've caught on to sony's next scam to get all players off of Creature handling
They are tossing around the idea of allowing 2 legged pets for female chars and 4 legged for males ![]()

Besides if i want to try for an FS i can do it on another server

Blah stick to ur guns bro.. stick it to the man =)
I was a master CH, master BE, and a few boxes in ranger.
It worked pretty well, but when I attacked creatures, it would take a long time to kill them. Eventually I dropped ranger for some basic pistol skills.

I am a master ch and master bio and was a fencer but dropped it for ranger to take better samples. I dropped ranger since it has some nice stuff but not needed any more to take high qual samples. COuldn't justify those few benifits after the patch. Going doc now
I was a MBE, MCH, Ranger 3/0/0/0.
I absolutely hated it.
CDEFs as your 'weapon' means mind numbingly long fights to kill anything bigger than a gnort. You'll be hurting yourself in so many ways by dropping your weapon skills to get what i had. You won't be able to collect your own meat at anything faster than a trickle. You won't be able to clear nests to milk baby spawns. You won't have a means of self defense beyond the Guard command.
MCH/Ranger + weapon skills is an incredibly effective template. You are a baby taming / creature resource gathering machine. Stealing points from your weapon skills to pick up BE skills totally destroys the effeciency at what you do best as a MCH (taming, clearing lairs for babies) and as a Ranger (creature harvesting).
That being said... if you don't want to do any of those things, then sure. Go for it. I'm not sure I could pinpoint anything other than tracking (and maybe Mask Scent / Camo on something bigger than CL55) as an advantage.
