Thread: Are my taming mods going to be worthless?
I think they are leaving the taming skill in there, they are just changing the way you figure up what you can tame. So yer bonuses to taming should still work. though, untill it is actually implemented, we have no idea.
keep up the good work soulless one
its true, they arent removing the skillmods, but what you can control will no longer be based on your taming skillmod. in other words, you can control traded/bought creatures u may not be able to tame yet(viscious creatures within your CL range, even without taming viscious creatures), and possibly vice versa (creatures you can tame due to your taming skillmods, but dont have the control lvl skillmod to use yet).
I haven't seen one post yet explaining how taming of viscious creatures will work after the big nerf. It's true that the cloths really only affect the ability to tame wild creatures (as of now). For example, with a +5 cloth, a 2-2-0-0 non-wookie can now tame and handle a graul mauler.
Maybe, after the nerf, the tissue will just add to you training level. That would be nice. A +7 traming may actually be worth the amount of milk required to make one. Then, a master with that +7 bonus might be able to have some pet that no-one else in game would have!
currently, there are 4 skill mods in CH
1 taming wild animals
2 taming vicious animals
3 max pet levels
4 max animal levels
1 and 2 have nothing to do with 3 and 4. If you have tame1 and train1 (which give you pet and animal levels 25) and you equip +25 to taming, you will still not be able to call a rancor. Since 1 and 2 have nothing to do with creature levels, they handle your success rates at taming animals, not what you can tame. They will probably not be affected by this nerf
Is my post on the general discussion board, where Thunderheart responded. I'm just a few replies down below him. I brought up your question, so maybe [fingers crossed] we might get a reply!
