Thread: Tell me about fish and pet stim d's?
How many does it take for one stim? Is 200 or so an ok stack?
What are the main stats to look for?
24 fish meat per stim d 26 dantooine fiberplast
and expect around a 40% fail rate
ok thanks guys. that's what i needed, back to fishing i guess. hehe. at least for a day or two more.

YOU DON'T GET A 40% FAIL RATE....don't know what this guy is smoking..
the biggest pain with fish is getting a large enough stack to get them into a schematic. So figure 48-92 fish to get a good schematic to run, then however many more you want. I've had limited success purchasing fish at 50 to 100credits per unit, but at those prices I've got two seperate stacks of fish over 3k in units... just waiting for the fiberplast not to complete stink as I don't have enough of the older one I have to do factory runs with it.
Good D's make creature handlers drool. 1500hp heal is a big difference from the C's 1100hp heal when fighting top tier mobs (Jedi's, some night sisters, some force NPCs). I know they've pulled my bacon out of the fire on more than one occassion where a C would have left me burnt to a crisp. They're a luxury item, and top level creature handlers will pay handsomely for them. They're definitely not the 'heal the mauler up after 5 missions' stim.
between critical fails on assembly and on experimentation you can most certainly expect around a 40% fail rate using a 41+ rated crafting station and 14+ rated crafting tools. i made 100s of stim d's before they could be run in factories. and additional 20% will come up with imperfect experimentation. running them in factories does eliminate most of the waste.
and if you feel i need to prove myself in some fashion i am putting 214 35/1607 stim d's on my vendor tomorrow. muff feel free to come by flurryand take a look and maybe learn a little about the class.

Kova, i know this sounds odd, but I was recently told by a Master Doc friend that he was seeing a lot more crit fails with a very high crating station and a very high crafting tool compared to when useing a very high station and a low quality tool. If i hadent had a lot of respect for the doc in question is would have thought it rubish, but as the case is i decided to try it out. So far im seeing a lot less crit failures useing a junk kit and a high end crating station.
In either case it might be worth a test run
