Thread: Looking For Some Bio-Engineer Input on An Idea to Help Bio-Engineers
I posted yesterday on the general forum with an idea to help bioengineers.
The gist of the idea is to replace the non-CH pet nerf with the following:
(1) Take away CH pet transfer command (CHs have nouse for itafter the nerf anyway)
(2) Make BE pets tamable like droids, where all commands are set by radial by the owner
(3) Re-work a couple of the BE pets to be CL12 or so, and give them the attributes you feel is appropriate for non-CHs to have
The result of this would be to make all non-CH pets creature pets bioengineered, and keep all wild pets specific to CHs.
If you have any thoughts, PLEASE post them on the following thread (NOT on this thread). The CHs have been one-starring it like crazy, and I think it is an appropriate compromise. No one is going to pay a CH for a chuba anyway (all non-CHs limited to CL10 after nerf).

A little history as to why this has been getting one starred.
From the beginning, even before nonCH pets, there has been a portion of BE's who have wanted some kind of basic training commands to be included with the cloning process. Mostly that was for the purposes of displaying their wares. Every single time it's brought up it gets shot down for infringing on CH territory. (Though no one seems to notice how much the CH infringe on our territory. ) NonCH pets were controversial too. Once again it was infringing on their territory. So we made numerous threads and suggested that nonCH should also mean noncombat. Who among us take our fluffy kitty cat with us into battle? We would have put a domestic tag on the creature at creation so that it would never fight and the CH could teach it to do tricks, like obedience school. But instead of doing the extra programming needed to pull this off, the devs decided to slap a level limit on the things, therefore 90% of themarket went straight to the CH's who could tame better stuff under the limit than we could make. After a bit of this, the devs decided to enforce the transfer command which had been completely ignored since the game began. I thought it was a good thing, but too many of my brethren complained that they couldn't find a good CH to work with them for training. So the BE dev in his infinite wisdom decided to make all nonCH BE pets tamable from the deed, and all nonCH pets transferrable from the datapad. Once again we lost our market. We raised holy hell, and so did the CH's who worked their butts off to get to management 4. So Holo came back and asked us if it was better if only BE pets were transferrable without the command. We gave him a resounding yes. I haven't seen a word about that issue since. It was never implemented.
So, a bit of laziness in the programming department not only denied us the nonCH market, it also went a long way towards the general perception that way too many people were dragging pets out to fight for them.
