Bio Engineer Archive
Thread: Cripes what a pain...what does anyone else think?
Of course if I do that, I would be trying to make a Master Bio-Engineer and Master Creature Handler.
What a pain that would be.....
Anyone think i should do that?
My charactor is making MILLIONS and your sitting in the forums complaining?
Yes.. go stop your profession because we don't have a FORUM correspondant.. man...
devs are making goodprogress? please tell me the BE item currently on TC that leads you to beleive this!
some of us would rather see this profession work how it should than make millions selling broken clones for 100k each.
the correspondent is not for the forums. he is a representative for the entire profession to the people who actually make the changes and is the ONLY way to get our concerns/ideas/gripes/bugs/encouragement to them effectively.
on a side note: your sig is hilarious! i hope its a joke.
The correspondent is the only way to be heard.
I thought about doing the same thing right before the last patch. I got as far as hunting4 and organic4. Then the patch came through and I wondered where in test center's wasteland I was going to get my hands on a factory. Then I remembered that pet stims and tissues were boring to make so I let my existing harvesters rot. If cloning doesn't make it this time I think I'm going to push that surrender button and try again later.
Maybe I'll be a commando CH. It will be time for me to get violent by then.
SOF Ryfew is so utterly correct. The correspondent program was an example of an excellent feedback process. Any game that had that kind of organized interaction with the players was going to succeed. The person that thought it up probably got promoted. Then the harsh reality set in. SOE discovered that is actually costs money to listen to your customers! Actual people have to be employed and paid to do this function.
And all this happened at the same time that SOE was notified by the players that the game basically ... sucked. To call the public release an extension of the beta was an insult to the letter beta. The community managers got smacked left and right. And stopped responding. Who needs that kind of grief? They didn't write the crappy code. Let the ungrateful players sit in the dark while new patches were written that might silence their complaints. And if they want to know when it will be done, just tell them ... never mind, don't tell them anything. If the players want to have input, have them address their concerns to their correspondent.

God, that is so negative. You are disgusting. Why do you play at all?

the same could be said for 90% of your posts lately .... why do you post
Aleria
Probably to grind micro-nutrient supplements.
Oh wait... wrong person.
I really don't see why you call what I wrote as negative. Telling a noob to pull his head out of his ass, that's negative. I've worked in software development and what I wrote is pretty accurate, based on my experience. I've seen other software companies tell their user groupto piss up a rope and I'm recognizing it here. SAP is a great example.
Why do I play? This is the MMORPG based in the SW universe. It's the only one we're gonna get for the foreseeable future. It should be better than what SOE has made it. And its getting better. But the process of repairing the piece of dung they initially released is a lot slower and bumpier than it needs to be. This could be a big money maker for SOE too. But they are squandering their opportunity.
You might argue that the SWG launch was not a piece of dung. You'd be wrong though. I have the reviews from every gaming magazine saying the same thing as me.

What are you smoking? The dev's have been making good progress with BE and people cannot stop griefing!
