I know this must get old around here, and I apologize.

However, I was curious about who can or cannot control a specific type of creature. The creature I'm talking about here is the Angler (y'know- that gorgeous lil spider).

I've talked to about 10 or 11 BEs on my server, and each one tells me something different in this regard. My question is whether or not a Non-CH player can control an Angler as his or her personal pet. Half of these guys say yes, some say they don't know, and a few have said no.

If the answer is no, then why? And if it's no, what level CH would one need to be to control a very low-level Angler?

Thank you for your time and attention. (I just wanted to make absolutely sure about this before I drop 15k on something I can't use)

The answer is no a NON-CH can't control one because the skin is vicious so you would needCH 2-0-0-0 at least to control one.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for... Guess I should modify my other character's template to include CH somehow.

I would check first to see if there is another spider type that isn't aggro (so a CL10 version could be controlled).

Looking on http://www.swgbe.mmospy.com/modules.php?name=Creatures I see that the dalyrake, the hermit spider and the merek are not aggro so a BE can put a CL10 template into one of those for you, unless your heart is set on the angler.

Looking the list over again I do see that some of them have a minimum CL of 15 or so but I personally have busted that so it might be possible to get a 10.

I noticed those, too, but my heart's set on an Angler. My other character's backstory might fit a MCH better in the template than MCM, so maybe this is a good thing.
