Thread: resource quality?

Another resource question:

Can anyone explain how a resource with individual specs of 700-900+ can have an overall quality of 200 or so?

And vice-versa, a resource wirh crappy individual specs of 200-600 can have an overall quality of 900+ ???

What is the key stat? And how are they coming up with those numbers?

I think the 'key' is that each stat is spit out from the RNG independently, and does not refrence any of the other stats.

All the stats are random, and they are all independant. Overall Quality is just another stat. The names of the stats are basically meaningless, you just match them up with what the schematic says works best...

The schematic doesn't actually say "what works best" unless I am missing something...

on the schematic look to see what can be experimented on... it will say something like experimental durability or experimental efficiency.

Right below that it will give the areas that affect it and how much you can possibly raise it, it looks like "Unit toughness 100%" or "unit decay 100%"

then, look for the highest quality resource that fits that area (ore or steel or whatever) and find the highest number you can find, for example, i currently have a stock of copper that is 998 conductivity which allows me to experiment crafting stations to 99% almost everytime.

Hope this helps.

I'm currently working on BE, and have a quick question. Does OQ, PE, taste... etc, matter when making creatures? I was just wondering, because every other crafting skill lists a % rating (example: a sword requires resources with high unit toughness %), but I don't notice it with creatures schematics. Oh well, I guess I can't go wrong with using high quality meat and berries.

No, they changed it to not matter with the last patch. Who knows, maybe it created too many variables when figured in with the crazy stats of a DNA template... anyway, meat/flora quality does not matter in creature combines any more. It's wierd, never thought I'd be purposefully buying low quality meats!

It is true and confirmed by the Dev's and Tath. I would dig up the post but it is burried deep and I don't remember the title.

That's huge news! Is this true? OQ has no bearing on crafting pets?

Confirm please.
