Whilst I don't wish to advertise on the BE board when the trade forums are good enough, the abovelinks to an advert I placed yesterday giving my stock/prices. I just thought other BEs might like to see the fairly hostile reception BEsrecieve on Chimaera. Chefs wonder why they can't get decent tissues for decent prices, well this is the reason. Chefs seem unable to comprehend the demands on resources and time it takes to make tissues for them. Theyseem tofeelmy 2.5k mark up on a crate is unnaceptable. - thats only 6.25% profit.
Having been a BE for about 2 months now, and taking most of that time to experiment on what works/doesnt and learn the trade toweigh up my options, I am seriously considering ignoring Chef tissues as an income- it is too much hassle.
I'd rather spend more time and effort getting resources for Tailor tissues where I know my skills will be appreciated.
Lloyd.

/cheers
The guy coming into your thread and moaning is a moron - we already proved that, Lloyd
You do whatever it takes to have fun. Ignore wankers like him.
I just ignore all the tosspots now, put stuff on my vendor and if it doesn't sell, I won't care.
My Tailor tissues fly off there, my chef tissues (similar prices to yours) also go fast. I refuse to take 'orders' for anything. I enjoy my time in game and keep my factories working round the clock.

I suppose what gets to me is the effect his stupidity will have on potential customers. Even though he may be completely wrong, people who don't know a fair price for tissues may be tainted by his influence.
I'll be perfectly blunt, I have barely sold a tissue since advertised - out of the something like 120 +86s, 40 +83s, 40 +53s and 40 +112s, I think I have sold about 3 crates. I accept that my vendor is slightly out of the way for most people day to day travels, but I feel that the discussion must have had a detrimental impact on my sales. (We have already proved it not to be prices on the thread)
Just to see if it is entirely my location, I have set up a merchant tent near coronet, and will see how that goes.
I wasn't expecting people to be falling over themselves for my tissues, but I did expect the +86s to move a bit more quickly. Its lamers like this who bring down the enjoyment of the game.

As compared to Septus, I only take orders for stuff. I'm yet to sell anytailor tissues from my vendor *sigh* - so I might mark them downa bit and re-advertise. Frankly I'm not bothered. I've made about 10 million credits in the past 3 weeks from chef tissue orders alone, so I'm not complaining at all. You just gotta get out there and ask some chefs 'do you want some BSNs?' - if they so no then alright, write their name down and try them again in a week
i auctioned my first few runs off on the trade forums which was partly to see how much i could get for them and partly touting for business, which has worked because now i have a nice list of chefs
. It's always hard getting going with new professions so just try spamming (unregularly so people dont /addignore you) in your local city and that could help. The problem is that I have noticed a sudden surge of new bio-engineers emerging which is driving upcosts and lowering profits so I think you joined the game at the bad time. Nonetheless, perceivere (sp?) and you will get there.
Ok i've rambled on long enough, if any of that made any sense then my work is done...
