Thread: Question for you experienced BEs
If it's BE made cats, it's a moot question, really. The DNA template (which carries the HAM/Stat characteristics is a separate part of the creature creation process and the "skin" (what a pet looks like) is the "cover". To my knowledge, the only affect a skin has ever been referred to having is speed (movement) and the cat "skins" are somewhat faster then other "skins".
Saying you want High HAM/High Resists doesn't help - everyone says that. Everyone. Honestly, I don't know any BE who willingly makes low HAM/low resist creatures except for junk mounts... =)
You don't mention what CL you are capable of controlling either. Stats will be affected by the CL of the creature.
So... you are looking for something in the CL 28-30 range in a cat skin. Lt. Armor? Damage? You say PVE - typically that means high Health (not HAM, HAM means Health, Action, Mind), high-end kinetic resists 45-60% and between 190-300 damage range.
I see you are on Tempest - you might check the stickied FAFAQ for the link to the listing of BE's by server and send one of them an email. The best I can do is help you figure out what you should ask for (since I'm not on Tempest) and what is reasonable to expect. =)

BE's on Tempest
There are some. And the ones I know will do custom order pets...but since the process to create specific pets can be tedious (I was a master BE for a while) they may charge you extra for it. Depends on the BE.
Check with a BE named Feliga...he's on almost every day, and if you can catch him online, Dittertain...

If it's on the bazaar, it's *only* a BE pet. I.e., Creature Handlers can not turn wild animals into deeds. All BE creatures start out as deeds (before taming) - like a droid or a speederbike and can also be traded the same as a droid.

well, i don't pvp at all, and have no real plans to in the future. so things built into pets with pvp in mind aren't of a lot of use to me.
Lt. Armour would be a plus, damage in the high 200s to low 300s would be fine. I'm halfway to TKM, so I don't need a lot of extra damage, just the aggro's focused on something other than me. As far as the high health as opposed to high HAM... i agree with what you say about the high health comment as that's the typical damage type, but by doing that, am I going to cripple the action and mind stats? the kinetic resist is a definite, as well as blast and/or energy. my gurrcat has 50% kinetic and 60% energy.
My guild does have a master BE or two, but like you said, i want to ask them for something particular, not just a general make me a pet question. I'll use my time at work for questions like that, hehe.

ok, thanks.

PVP pets are typically the ones with more resists, hon.
Action/Mind are more affected by players then they are by other critters. Typically, PVE targets health and kinetic. Lt. Armor deflects how much damage your pet takes, like your armor does for you. I've never had a pet incapacitated for it's mind level in PVE.
So... Let's look over your "shopping" list:
1. Cat Skin
2. CL 28-30
3. Between 9-10K Health
4. 45-60 Kinetic
5. Some energy/blast resists? Still want that?
6. Damage between 250 and 350.
Do you care about specials? Since you have the time during the day, you should check swgcreatures.com and plug in some of the info you are looking for and see what specials are out there. Without looking myself, I'd probably go for some Toxic Battle Lord/Bark Mite Burrower/Frenzied Graul and pull down the CL in generations.

If you are PVE'ing critters - energy/blast is not a resist needed. If you are PVE'ing NCP's, then you should consider the pet as a PVP style critter.
I do PVE NPC's so I guess the PVP type things do matter, hehe.

The poison strike from the TMBL looks good... I'm on SWGcreatures now, browsing.
