After taking a few months off from the game, a friend talked me into coming back and joining his server. God I love this game. Anyways, I was playing on my Novice BH account doing the same kill everything in site grind ... when i decided i wanted a cool Pet like every other person out there. So i went on a search for about 2 weeks trying to find a nonCH pet (which wasnt in the game back when i stopped playing the first time ... i dont think) for my BH and everything was always out of stock and even the shops were hard to find at times. So what do i do. I get furious and purchase a 2nd account, bringing to life the latest Master Bioengineer on the Gorath server. What else to name a bioengineer than after a Vorlon. Enter Master Bioengineer Qosh. Ive spent all my time on Qosh lately because of the grind and my novice BH foka is feeling neglected, but i think the effort is paying off. I just wanted to list a few observations, not that any of you probably care to see the same thing agian, but since ive been perusing this and the BH forum for well over a month, i just wanted to make a post.

Top Issues:
1. dna storage (laboratory, blood, freezer, droid, etc.)

The VERY first thing i thought after i recieved Master status and my house was full of samples and resources. I dont even have furniture other than a crafting station. It's my understanding that this is in the works in some fashion.

4. some method for hitting target CLs more easily (CL displayed during experimentation, CL limits, experimenting status down, etc.)

This was probably the 2nd major issue that i came up with about 1am this morning while trying to figure out how to get the CL down below 10. Thanks to one very helpful Master on the server who sent me a recipe (which i thought was very awsome) i was able to get a better understanding of multi generation cloning and the use of the quality dna's mixed with crap. This is where the display during experimentation would come in handy since while i admit i have a house full of samples, that doesnt mean i have an overstock of Very High quality from the big boys. Also I still havent figured out the #'s relation to importance, for example i read on this forum where fortidude for a cl10 pet should be around 500. Ive yet to have a fortitude of 500 even when using top of the line DNA. I think phisique (sp?) on first experiement will adjust the fortitude, but if your not careful, the others or failures can drag it back down. 2nd and 3rd experiment on physique will not raise the the fortitude anymore so its a waste to try to do so. Still working on figuring out the other numbrs and relations to dna and which box its placed in.

Complete Listing Of Issues:

Game Balance
1. lack of skill tapes
4. too many skill points used for BE

I am currently Master BE, Medic 1xx4, scout 4xx4, CH 1111, Novice TKA xx3x. I have very few pts left. I can defend myself in the field very nicely, (when armored and buffed), but i could use a few more pts. I have a few left and im debating on trying to get as much TKA as possible, or CH for what reason i have no clue since ill never have enough pts to do what im sure id like so its irrelevant, yet still need to tame the cl10 pets w/o looking for a CH. Id like to go up in Medic some because stim pack A's and wound healing isnt getting the job done fast enough =) but the more i look at it that +30 to mask scent is looking nice at the top of the scout chain =). (coughs) mutant rancors.

6. harvesting of dna sampling kills

This wouldnt kill me to be left out, but man would it be awsome to have.

7. experimentation & assembly failure rate (also losing the dna template)

At master, it shouldnt fail as muc has it does.

9. dna sampling failure rates

I expected better success rates at master againsted medium critters. Example, Merek harvesters. I still havent gotten one successfully. I havent checked yet, but i did get some deathheads which i would think are stronger.

12. tissue complexity too high

I can agree with this if i understand it. im using some high quality stuff and am falling just shy of what the chefs are asking for. Its not like meat is running around in High Quality every where either so its not just always so easy to find just a little bit better quality resources.

14. BE's often find themselves becoming "schematic monkeys" rather than selling products

This is what i have been while trying to get to CL10's and frankly, its not fun nor rewarding especially when your getting /tells from wannabe customers every 5 mins. I dont think we're asking for a streamline or dumbing down of the profession, but you cant make a living or have fun in the game if your stuck hunting for and getting DNA all the time to experiment experimet experiment. Top Issue #4 might help eliveate alot of this.

Bugs
23. creature warping (including upwards) during sampling & milking

havent had the problem milking much, but the rest of the game in combat is annoying and rubberbanding gets old on planets with the tough sampling ventures.

24. color specified during creature assembly isn't reflected in tamed creature

had this a little, and would like more colors.

Enhancements
25. more variety in craftable creatures (new skins, colors, sizes)

I havent got sick of whats there yet, but the more the merrier. Most people want the same stuff though, that want cat's or mounts. Maybe if there were bonuses for using the different types at times it might create a more diverse pet wielding universe. How many killer bunnies are out there?

32. better error messages during sampling (CL too high, full backpack)

This would be great. How many times was the backpack full cuz you werent paying attention?

33. BE specific quests

This would be great too. Maybe where the new unique animals are? being added.

35. some method for hitting target CLs more easily (CL displayed during experimentation, CL limits, experimenting status down, etc.)

Would make the world a better place and we would see more smiles.

Anyways, this is just my initial thoughts. Bio will be a nice break and fun to play with than the regular norm. I also noticed now that im a BE i see BE's everywhere on the server. Kind of like when you buy a car, cuz its cool, uniuqie, and all yours then all of the suddeen you see it all over town and then in every driveway on your block because everyone owns one just like it.

Now for the NEWBIE QUESTION OF THE DAY thats been asked before and will be asked again!!!!!!!

I can't get the dna from the rancors. simply put.
I have +70 Mask Scent from the Explorere 2, 3 and 4 box.
I am wearing a BE shirt with +17 MS +17 Camo.
I am wearing a BE slack with +13 MS and +13 Camo.
I would like a jacket and backpack too, but a Master Tailor told me its not as easy to make because they need crates, of which we need larger quantities of meat.

Is there a cap to what you can MS or does this sound like enough MS to be able to get DNA from them. Of course i stop, drop and roll and get my lowcrawl on (i assume everyone does this). I read where some say success is more likely if you wait to MS when your withing 30, but im usually detected at 63. I have only had 3 chances to actually get the DNA sample off and it failed on an enraged rancor. Anyways, just wondering if im getting the most out of my MS or am i not using enough, or is it just pure luck of the draw or do i need more Camo? Maybe i should be trying on Youth Rancors or can you even sample them? The Rancor population appeared to not be booming yesterday, so i didnt get as many chances. Someone also mentioned new buffs or something that add to mask scent, anyone heard of this?

Keep up the good work, thanks for all the great help you provide each other, ive never really had to ask a question, its always been easy to find. Except for all of your recipes, i think that link is broke hehe. I will starting keeping recipes on my personal website soon for you new guys who want to trade or help each other out. I know some feel alot of the time that some things are best unanswered as trade secrets can break the bank, but like i said im here for the fun of the game and will be happy to share the wealth or at least enough to get everyone in the right direction.

Hi foka,

And welcome to the BE profession. I'm glad you are enjoying it. I have read through your feedback, it is good to get feedback from newer bio-engineers as most people here tend to be veterans.

+25 cumulative is the cap for the mask scent bonus you get with clothing. It sounds like you have already reached that cap, so you won't benefit from more. The only ways you can improve your mask scent, are to either get the master level box of scout, or to drink jawa beer, which also improves mask scent ability.

Always walk or crawl when approaching a MR, and do so from behind if you can. Also the fewer of them that are clustered the better.
