Thread: Potential BE looking for advice

Hey all,
i'm looking for a new profession for my alt and i'v never really crafted before, well i did BE as part of the holo grind but that doesn't really count. I was just wondering how you all find BE, is there alot of demand for the produce? how does it compare to other crafting professions? I certainly had alot of fun when grinding it, making creatures was a blast, i'm just not sure how viable/easy it is to use as a money maker. Any advice opinions are certainly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
IMO BE is not a good money maker. Go Chef or Doc if thats what you are after.
What I would say, is that BE Pets are the most demanding, complex, interesting and brilliant craft in the game. Some see Pet craft more as Witchcraft ![]()
If you are not worried about a) skillpoints and b) getting lots of money, then BE is probably the profession for you. (Oh yeah, and with the Devs looking for ideas about Creature Mounts now, expect petdemand to increase in the next few months)
There's only one person i know of that actually makes a really good profit as a Bio-Engineer, and he runs it as a business making chef and tailor suppliments for a large number of BE's on my galaxy and has been at it for at least 6 months i believe. long story short, he doesn't do all of be and makes the profession similar to what most WS, AS, chefs, Arch, SW, etc. are- the mass-producing profession=best in the business. Not to belittle him, he does great work and from a chef perspective is probably the best one in the galaxy and from a resource and production standpoint he works wonders. Unfortunately that is the biggest and best way to make money in the BE profession at the moment.

Out of curiosity, and I know it depends on the server, but just how much can a good tissue making BE make, say on a weekly basis, after all expenses? I don't mean a lot-swapping, 10-factory-running BE, I mean a normal person

I was under the impression you did more runs than thatThose runs that I've made, I've tried to price a bit higher than what I've seen as normal, except for the lower end stuff (I tend to stock 1/4 runs of high 70s to low 80s to help out starting chefs), since I don't want to have a full time business making chef stuff but I also want someone in need to be able to find what they need. So far, I've been pricing 85s at 1.6m so hearing 1.5m from you after your price hike fits right with what I want to do. Provide some but not impact those who want to do more. For 2m a week though, I'm going to stick with pets. At least the scenery changes

I would do more than that if I had the meat. I had a burster over christmas where Idid prob 50 runs in a 2 week period. That used up a LOT of meat, and there hasn't been a good dath carn spawn on Chimaera in a while. I was doing more than the 14-15 runs I am doing at the moment, it's just sustainability.
Also, I do not advertise my services any more. I will not advertise until I have the capacity to do more. In effect, I have about 7 factories on the go at once, and about 8-10 more deeds that I put up as needed.
With 1million units of meat used up every 50 runs (or at standard capacity 300k per week over 15 runs), Ieat through meat like a Pacman on speed.
