Thread: Tissues quality/pricing questions

Hello all:

I made master a couple days ago, and I tried making some tissues with the materials I had. This is what came out:

Tensile Resistance : 17/4
Active Biosensor: 16/16
Coagulant Agent: 18
Enhanced Myoflex: 16/16
Scent Neutralization: 15/15

Honestly, I haven't the slightest idea if these are any good or not. I tried using good materials, but I'm just looking for comparisons to the normal tissues or whatnot.

Also, what is a fair price? I had some guy buy two of those biosensors for 8k, which was about 50cpu of it all, but he said he was willing to pay like 20k. That just seemed too high to me, and i'm not really looking to gouge anyone. What do you think a fair price is for stuff of this quality? I looked on www.swgbioengineer.com for prices, but I wanted to get an idea of what the BE community thought of this stuff, and how much its worth.

Thanks to everyone for your assistance, it is much appreciated.

Fair prices can be figure out when you consider how much clothing itself costs plus the fact it can now decay like any other item. Frankly my personal opinion is if a component costs more than the item it goes into then you're charging too much. I personally run my tissues in the 1000-2000c range, as for the power of those tissues they are quite decent... too bad when you stack them into seperate items of clothing you're well over the skillcap and it means alot of wasted effort. Some people will argue that higher bonues good but thats only if you want a multi purpose item outfit which isn't that most people from my experience tend to ask for. It's more common for them to ask for one suit for one purpose.

Ah, I see your point with the quality...if the cap is 25, it seems fruitless to use my best materials if i'm just going to make 2 anyway. I can get away with making 13s and they're just as good...that's kind of irritating. I'll just stockpile stuff then and save my good meat/flora for creatures.

Thanks Tal-n.

Keep in mind that for a Tailor to incorporate the tissues into the widest range of clothing, they have to have factory crates of the tissues, so they can make factory crates of the synthetic cloth/reinforced fiberplast panels that the tissues go into. And should anyone ever ask you, nothing can be made with our tissues that is handwear, footwear, belts or packs.

I personally think the skill level at which one acquires the schematic should have some relevance to price. But that's just me. So I price mine at 250/skillbox plus 100cr per bonus point. That is a purely personal decision of mine and I don't think it'll take off among other BE's, though.

I'm wearing clothes with Scent Neutralization tissues in them that add up to +28, and it shows all 28 points in my character mods (in the Ctrl+S screen). Whether or not it works at all, only up to the +25, or all +28 I haveno clue. I don't think it's doing a bloody thing, I still get detected rather often. Skill's showing as 70/98 (70 being my base, and theoretically modded up to 98 right now).

I price at 300 credits per point for the highest point. With tailors on my server charging around 1k per point, this gives me a tidy profit while allowing them a healthy profit margin as well. Dont undervalue yourself.

8-10K seems like a good price to me.

But what I would do is to price the product to the cost or materials + amount of time it takes to gather them all. And the big question here is to price your time. A good rule of thumb that I use is to peg it to the amount of creds that a CH+weaponskill+AT-ST could earn per hour running 40K missions. Once you get a base price for you time, then cost your resources by the amount of time required to gather those resources.

Given that 3 out of 4 resources, required for tissues, can't be mined using harvesters, the cost of tissues should be much higher than other products.

Oh btw these goes into clothing and clothing do not decay at this point. So people only need to purchase a tissue once in a lifetime so to speak. If its me, hell yeah, 20K for +15 bonus for the lifespan of my character = cheap.

I too am am having difficulty pricing the components... the stas are the same as Tarcus...and the 300 per point sounds good..but have had 2 tailors complain saying they can't sell the clothes for the increase in enhancement cost... I know it will vary greatly, but what pricing have you all been working with? thanks!

I hate this game...
