This might seem like a stupid question, but from what I can tell from making creatures, I can make a rancor from DNA sampled from a gnort?

Is this true? I am not a master, and I am trying to deside whether or not to master BE or use the points to just make pet stims, and then go merchant to get a tent.

yes you can, and as long as you are doing it for show it will not matter, if you plan to have people use them, (after the patch more so) the donor critter's level does matter.

You could definately make a rancor from gnort DNA, but one of two things will happen:

Prior to next patch: You have a rancor far worse than those in the wild. This is basically unusable, and is good only for show/furniture.

Post Patch: This rancor will be the minimum possible CL probably, and will also be so weak as to be unusable. Only now, it will be smaller, and colored

So you could make it, but you wouldnt want to.

The Rancor would be level 35 (for CH purposes)

But it would have gnort stats + experimentation.

Using DNA below the minimum CL of a creature wastes CLs for whomever ends up using it.

So what happens if you make a rancor with Kimo DNA? ro what crearures to you all suggest I use to grind through sample 4 and get said DNA at the same time?

If you use all Kimo DNA... you might get another CL 90+ kimo, untameable.

Useing 1 or 2 kimo samples mixed with lower stuff may get you a very nice Rancor.

WOW so there is no set pattern or math to it...

This is Why I love this profession and I am not even a master yet. Experiment away.

toss in the sample cap is 70 maybe 75. Kinda rules out sampling wild kemo.

The sample cap is around CL75, CL70 is no problem to sample from at all.
