Thread: Can you use Old DNA or Sample Old Creatures After Publish?
I know this question has been asked a couple of times but we seem to have gotten different answers from before the big fix on test a few days ago and after. Can we use old (gathered pre-publish) DNA in the new, post publish system? If not, can you sample creatures made before the publish and get the "new" DNA?
I've got scads of rancor DNA and a handful of really old Kimo DNA sitting in my bank riding on this answer!
Thanks

I am not on test and my statement is an utter guess. They, being the devs, never said anything about pre patch clones being sampleable. Frankly, I dont think anyone who had a character on test had any prepatch clones stored for the new system. My guess is that they will be sampleable for these reasons:
1. You are able to sample post patch clones.
2. Sampling a clone is just like sampling an animal, it creates a DNA sample. Only, under the new system, the DNA samples have a lot more information on them. The postpatch clones also have a lot of information on them. Post patch world animals still only display info for scout/rangers. prepatch clones will prolly display the same information.
3. I have 80 rancors and 1 of each other clone in a shack out behind my house.
I want to builda DNA database, so they better be sampleable.
Thanks for the input and absolutely no offense intended, but I'd like to hear from someone on test vice guesses. I'd particularly like to know if we can sample clones made before the publish.
