I dont see why this would change... altho i doubt anything with enough armor to boost your final pe to medium will end up at or less than 60 (remember new ch cap lvl is 60 under new system).

The CH normally caps at 60 however with a wookie bonus and with skill enahncers it can reach a total of 70 since thats the maximum size of the pool they have to work with. Thats why the maximum a bio-eng can sample from is around CL75.

Tal, what are you talking about. Wooks only get a mod to taming, not to CL. and skill tissues mod taming and not CL. so if the +CL mod on CHs maxes at 60, wooks only get 60.

I just checked the CH skill tree on TC, it is listed here verbatim:

http://www.geocities.com/kahlessreborn/chtree.html

MCH gets +70max level of pets, +90 taming wild creatures, +50 taming vicious creatures. This means a MCH can control 1 level 70 pet, as long as it is not vicious. If the MCH has some BE taming mods and gets the max +75 taming vicious creatures (+50 from the skill tree, and +25from mods), then he can use a lvl 70 vicious creature. This is how I see it anyways, and I'll be damned if there's any other way to see it hehe.

Ah well they flip flop on this CH thing every other day it seems. I think its good they brought it back up to 70 on the final plan. If they're gona up the CL of the good pets based no their resists they dont need to double nerf.

For the original question I dont think what we can sample will change. I sampled an enraged rancor (CL75) so I know we can do that much like tal said. Above that I doubt you'll have any luck (and even if you did you're likely to push your final clone so high in CL its not usable).

I wasn't able to sample from enraged rancors. Failed about 15+ times in a row. Are you on live?

Yes, this is on live. CL75 samples tend to fail on around a 50/50 average. CL70 is something I tend to get around 90% success on leading to entire fields of mutant rancor clones scattering the ground for a good 500m radius

I just saw a post on the CH board that listed several creatures with medium armor but they were above level 70. Any chance we could sample them and keep medium armor while tweaking the other stats so they end up cl 70?

Err, no. CH's cap out at 70 at Master, and the Wookiee bonus affects chance at taming, not max pet level.

Yes, that is correct. I get a plus 10 to taming wild creatures and visious creatures.... Although I had something funny happen. I have 3-3-0-4 CH and I tame Gaping Spider Hunters all the time, about CL 44. I sold one to a guy that was like 2-2-1-4 and transferred it in the data pad. He took his skill to 3-3-1-4 and still could not call it. He transferred it to me, I called it, transferred it back and he still couldn't call it. hehe.

But I can not call anything above my taming level that the skill tree shows... its just easier. Also, at 1-1-0-0, I had no difficultytaming BEKusaks, where a nonwookie with no additional stats can't tame them, but the can call them.

Viciousness is no longer a factor on TC either. The only factor that determines whether you can tame and control a pet now is CL. Even non-ch's can control vicious pets and novices can tame them.

This is correct. It's the main reason for all the change -- reduce the ammount of math it takes to figure out if player XXX can tame/call creature YYY.

Taming/training skills now will only impact the chances of a CH literally to tame and/or train a creature (reduction in failure chance if you have BE clothing with tame/train mods) but no change in the levels or types of creatures the player has access to.

I never could understand that whole deal with vicious creatures anyway, it's not like they had any benefits over the passive ones. I'm glad they removed it in the end. Trouble is I'm sploit for choice as to what pet to have as my bodyguard since I'll not be able to (and will have little reason to) use my current Guf Drolg.
