Thread: Beware the Invalid Pet scam
Sold a lvl 34 pet to a customer last night, he states the pet says "Invalid" when calling. Since there's 4 more just like it on the vendor, I had my friend pull it and tame the thing to see if all my pets of this type are bad. He has no problems calling it twice, had him re-log to be sure and summon once more. All seemed fine. But it's my customer, so I gave him a refund.
Then later he's at the starport with it out, giving it commands (he had Novice Scout title on inside the shop but now has Master Creature Handler over his head) then trying to resell it. I asked for my money back and he promptly added me to ignore list.
How can you be sure a pet is invalid now? No two pets are exactly the same, different stats, slightly different resists, it's impossible to know what triggers "invalid".
I've had other customers ask me for refunds on a variety of pets, but how can you know which are scamming you and which aren't?
The post from the dev said the Saturday morning fix. Its friday morning thats what i meant. I should have been more specific sorry. So hopefully tomorrow we can go back to work and wait out what the real changes will be.

That really sucks. I totally despise people that pull this kind of crap. I'd like you to post this imbeciles name to get the word out in order to limit the damage he inflicts on others.
While the new system is good, I felt that the things I did were experiments and thus didn't try to push them out as products. Then only time I charged was for special orders which I am not doing until we get some sort of documentation on the new system.
But of course you are going to see these people crawl out of the woodwork and even ones that didn't buy from you will try to scam you out of $$. Most of them just do a search on Bio-Eng in the area and see what they can shake them for.
Well, if they do that thre are two way to deal with it. 1. tell them you are going to refund them but get your pet back from them BEFORE you reund them. Then if you can see if you can call it (if you have the skill of course). If you can, tell them it's fine, have a nice day and keep your money.
Grief the griefer.
OR... give them their money back after you get your pet back or in trade for your pet. Trust no one. If they say they destroyed it they get nothing.
You should at the very least ban the person from your shop. And I would be interested in the person's name too.
